Question on the type of panels used in xiaomi v4 tv. They're said to be mainly TN, and TN has poor side viewing angle. But, they advertise 178 degrees viewing angle, which is almost completely from the side (180 degrees is the max).

???

All LED panels have a viewing angle problem. TN panel has the worst. One can still watch the picture but the color will be greatly affected

Fortunately, one can always overcome this viewing angle problem by placing the TV so that the panel is always within the viewing angle.

TN panel has its advantages. Besides being cheaper in price, it also has the faster response time making it more suitable for playing games.

Understand this clip was taken with an iphone 7 right infront of the MiTV4

Yah..later I got to go overseas... No one home to receive it. Next week come back see if have offer again then buy

Thot the delivery is always guaranteed. If undelivered, they will refund.. you can always make arrangement beforehand for a delayed delivery. Shippers usually allowed some time (20 days ??) for storage without any charge.

The 55+ inch MI TV seems to be at a good price. But for the smaller tv like 43 inch the price isnt that much. Around 400 for 1 year warranty compared to 500+ for the more reputable brands, some with more years of warranty.

I was aiming a 43 and was initially considering mi tv but now not sure if it is worth the trouble.

Still need to add the MI BOX S for 4K right, Digital tuner, installation etc add up already around 400.

Others like Panasonic, LG, SS, Sony price is mostly inclusive in price already.

Somemore like quite alot of disputes with the model when delivered, 1 year warranty only and validity depending on who you bought from, chinese compatibility issues etc etc...

Thanks. What I mean is

1. 178degrees is already almost side to side. Just 2 more degrees and it would be side to side. So if it is really 178 degrees maybe it isn't a tn screen? Are there other tn screens that have 178 degree viewing angle?

2. In any kind of practical living room or TV room setup, you would be sitting a few metres away from the TV. This kinda guarantees that you would be Ina good viewing angle already right?

The Mibox S is around $80/= and digital TV box is another $30/=. HDMI cable is another $30/=. These are all plug and play that needs no installation. With Mibox S, one will get additional memory storage space and extra tuner. As 4K movies still not as popular, one can do away with MiBox S until later years.

He is referring to old model of MiTV4. The supposed to be new MiTV5 already has digital TV and google play.. will need Mibox S if one wants to play also Netflix and Youtube in 4K picture quality.
