Came across MI8 Android 9.0 box
The seller at sls says ok box specially catered for English speaking buyers and all progs in England and HD
The PQ is much better than EVPad though
Wanna sell me 299 lol

I search AliExpress no have this box
He told.menits upgraded from MT Box

If you can not find the product from the website, do not buy.

If the box cost more than S$200 and it is not the Nvidia Shield TV, do not buy. In fact you need to be very careful if it is above S$150.

Most of the boxes should be below S$100.

Amlogic S905X3 Quad-A55 CPU based boxes are coming out. Probably it is better to wait for more reviews and more stable firmware to buy. And the performance is only slightly better than S905X2 Quad-A53 CPU.
https://www.cnx-software.com/2019/07/19/amlogic-s905x2-vs-s905x3/

Beelink GT1 Mini 2
Lazada has the 4GB/64GB at about S$100.

Tanix TX3 (they reuse the name), US$44 for the official version 4GB/32GB option
https://m.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_009387038204.html?wid=1433363

Lazada only has the OEM version of Tanix TX3 S905X3 boxes (no Tanix logo) for about S$56, better not buy.

Lazada also has the X96 Air but that is a no-brand box so better not to buy.

For Amlogic high end S922X based boxes, Beelink GT-King is the most popular and the 4GB/64GB version is at about S$150-160 from Lazada, not a bad price.

Ugoos AM6 is also available but the price at S$190 is too steep to be worth buying.

I tend to think Amazon FireTV Cube Gen 2 (Amlogic S922Z CPU) is a better buy than the Beelink GT King due to the official support of Netflix 4K and better brand.

S905x3 do support 8k but Ethernet only 100Mbps

That is not correct. S905X2/S905X3 based boxes can have Gigabit Ethernet or 100M Ethernet, depending whether the vendor use the external Gigabit PHY chip or not. It is common for the CPU to integrate 100M PHY chip but not Gigabit PHY chip. Gigabit MAC is usually integrated. So lower cost box can skip the external gigabit PHY chip to save a few bucks.

Ref:
https://www.cnx-software.com/2019/04/12/amlogic-s905x3-specifications-block-diagram/

Beelink GT1 Mini 2 has Gigabit Ethernet.
Tania TX3 S905X3 has 100M Ethernet

My Tanix TX5 Max S905X2 box also has Gigabit Ethernet. Same for Beelink GT1 Mini S905X2 version.

Tanix TX3 S905X3 box is in fact more of a downgrade from Tanix TX5 Max other than the CPU upgrade, no 1000Mbps Ethernet, no external antenna. The cost is also lower.

2GB/16GB version US$34
4GB/32GB version US$44
4GB/64GB version US$46

my iptv experience, is to keep apps count low, minimalist setup.
You need a simple launcher, no google framework, disable all auto updates (manual update to minimise background update processes)

my setup:
beidang launcher (hacked ad-less version), RSS player (hacked ad-less version), zaltv, aptoide tv and my choice of paid IPTV.

i like beidang launcher feature of remote web server installing apps.

Use a iptv app which use built-in HW decoder instead of SW decoder.
Auto cleanup app to clear cache.

Use LAN if possible, if not, use 5GHz WiFi if there are heavy door between WiFi signals

I am using a cheapo reliable tvbox using HiSilicon 3798MV300 chipset with low end spec for LAN user (100Mbps), or slghtlly higher end S905 (standard cpu, not scaled-down version, dualband WiFi, 1000Mbps LAN). S912 if you got thicker wallet. Less concurrent running app, u do not need more RAM.

4K video like blueray, adoption rate had been pathetic before 5G network go mainstream. non-local iptv is generally 720p video, or lower.

Answering someone questions on English soccer on IPTV.
Watching BPL on Astro supersport 1 or 3 (English), or taiwanese Eleven 2 Shanghai 新觉视(Chinese). BEIN sports in Arabic.
And, got a recently cloned green star iptv box in its original local content.

My 2 cents worth..

Latest top Android TV boxes from Chigz Tech Chart

1) NVIDIA SHIELD TV (2017) 10 $189.99
2) FIRE TV CUBE 4K (2ND GEN) 9.5 $119.00
3) UGOOS AM6 9 $129.00
4) BEELINK GT KING 9 $118.00 108,708
5) XIAOMI MI BOX S / MIBOX 4 8.9 $79.00
6) FIRE TV STICK 4K (3RD GEN) 8.9 $49.99

Full chart here.
http://chigztech.com/charts.html

No 3 and No 4 are Amlogic S922X based generic boxes so there are no Netflix HD support.

No 1,2,5,6 support Netflix 4k as they are all certified by Netflix.

Supposedly new generation of Nvidia Shield TV boxes will come out with faster CPU and Dolby Vision support.
https://androidpctv.com/nvidia-shield-tv-pro-price-opinion/

I think the new FireTV Cube 2 is pretty decent and it is cheaper than the Nvidia Shield TV box. It is based on the high end Amlogic S922Z CPU. I will say it is a better buy than Beelink GT King and Ugoos AM6.

For lower cost Mi Box S and FireTV Stick are very good value.

Is upro2 good

In terms of HW specifications it is pretty bad with the thermally challenged Allwinner H6 CPU and only 1GB RAM. The HW cost will be less than S$50 now.

So its value all depends on the IPTV app bundled. I will definitely not recommend it myself but I know there are people who like it.

I think gearbest doesn't support SG credit card payment. As well as PayPal I think

The Gearbest link is only for reference.

The problem of buying Tanix boxes in Singapore online sites like Lazada/Shopee is that often you will get OEM version without Tanix logo and the quality may vary.

Gearbest is the only online sites which I know of that is sure to be the official version with Tanix logo.

Not sure bout dat cause i use posb mastercard. I saw accepted credit card payment on gearbest is from US, EU, CND etc

I found that you posted many false info in HWZ.

gearbest's preferred payment mode is paypal. and it also accepts most credit cards, and it has a singapore site.
