More than 10sec also won’t turn as dark as crizal

The competing products are Zeiss photofusion, Hoya sensity, and essilor transitions

The main factors to look at are the depth of tint when activated by light, colours that are available such as brown, gray or grey-green, rate at which the tint darkens outdoors, and fades indoors, which is different. Traditionally, photochromic lens do not tint in the car, or under bright fluorescent lights, but some manufacturers have come out with certain photochromic lens that may tint a little under these conditions. These still won't tint under led lights.

Photochromic lens from the same brand have different versions (generation) and types. Something bought ten years ago is different from one bought today.

What I know is among Transition, Sensity, and Photofusion the former darken faster and the latter slower. Sensity tint the darkest while Photofusion is the lightest comparatively.

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations on where I can get Zeiss 1.74 lens and a trendy frame at a competitive price for my partner. She's around 600 degrees myopia (layman terms, sorry I'm not proficient with the lingo) with about 100 degrees astigmatism - I hope I got the terms correct.

Would appreciate if opticians here or satisfied customers can let me know how much to expect or optometrist places we could check out. Much thanks!

ever since then have nvr really believe/tried out "premium" lense anymore

after working a few year now, i am thinking of making my first spect using premium lense
so far in my life always using normal lense,

i do not know where to start.
so far comb a few page into this thread, seem to me like hoya and zeiss are the top contender?

i am mainly short sight on one eye and astigmatism heavy on another

Whats your degree like?

If I follow my contact Lense prescription

Left eye:
Cyl -1.75
Axis 160
Sph + 0

Right eye:
SPH -2.50
Cyl -0.75
Axis 10

Friends had always recommend me to go for PC Lense like owndays that block blue light
They claim it reduce eye fatigue , but I had always been in front of PC 10 hour daily and I don’t get eye fatigue
So not sure if it is necessary
Maybe transition Lense and anti fogging Lense will have more practical usage for me

There used to be anti-fogging lenses by Essilor, but need to constantly apply a solution for the anti-fog to be present. Ceased to exist already, probably cos it's not really an anti-fog lens in the 1st place.

Transition/ photochromic lenses are good if you need to be under the sun for long hours everyday. Otherwise Blue Absorb or blue reflect lenses would be better for you.:)

Hi Guys,
Need some advise here.
I recently bought a pair of spectacles with Zeiss Duravision Blue Protect (1.6) Lenses.
Notice that when i put on my spectacles, i can see the light reflections on the top left/left corner on my left lens and top right corner of my right lens.
It happens when there are lights on the celling behind me.
Is it actually normal?
thanks

Hi bro,

Zeiss Blue Protect lenses comes with a blue coating. The blue coating is pretty reflective. Reflection is much more obvious when you have a bigger frame.

thanks Bro for the advise.
Previously I'm using crizal prevencia (1.5) but I don't see such reflection.
I wondering does thinner lenses actually causes more reflection as well?

The reflection I'm seeing is actually bothering me. (quite sensitive to lighting)
Are there any lenses that u can recommend without such reflections?

By the way, for SPH -2.25, CYL -1.24 for both eyes, can we go for 1.5 thickness?

thanks!

Hmm is there a size difference in the 2 frames? Cos all blue reflect lenses works the same way.

Recommend that you go for Tokai Lutina/ Asahi Lite UV3G / Kodak UVblue. These lenses have the (HEV)blue block feature embed into the lens material itself. Probably drop by your opticians and sound out your concern. Most would be nice enough to replace the lenses and let you top up the difference only.

For a degree of SPH -2.25 + CYL -1.25, you can go for 1.50/1.56 index lenses if your axis is along 180(Horizontal)

If your axis is along 90(Vertical), I'ld suggest going for 1.60 index, otherwise it'll be too thick.
