Its contract till the end of the year, with an option of another year. I don't see how that is better than our offer of a one year extension, other than them paying him more for the remaining 6 months.

Man Utd did not speak to Young about the extension until Inter Milan came in, and the offer was still lower.

It’s really Herrera all over again, with Ed waiting until the last month to offer an extension :s22:

Herrera waiting until the last month is not the norm for players out there :s13:

Really happy for Young. I don't remember he ever created any trouble for us, on or off the field. While he may not be the most skilful, he did try his best for us, unlike some others. He was even thrown around all over to cover all sort of positions. Can't imagine how sulky some of our current team will be if you ask them to play another position.

i think our biggest problem as a club now is that we are no longer trying to be ahead of the times.

in the past we had things like:

one of the first state-of-the-art academy in england
the biggest stadia in england(at a time when others had 30,000-40,000 capacity we had almost 70,000)
we were proactive in improving our squad in any way, even if it was a few years down the road

now other clubs have even better youth structures than we have
we are signing players to cover exits/mc rather than proactively building for the next few seasons to come.

we need to be ahead of others in everything if we want to be the best. unfortunately our CEO has a laidback attitude

all these is due to the club being run like a business. owners and ceo don't care about success on pitch. now everything is all about revenues, sponsors etc. utd is probably the top epl club in the number of sponsors and revenues generated.

Not like the Swordsmen of old? =:p

Anyway why must he be so loyal to the club, when they had no intention to offer him a contract, fans lambast him every time, his playing days are running down and United already have first choice players in his position?

We fans have it easy, sit in front of screen, criticise and judge him, then go to work next Monday. People have what’s left of their footballing days to take care of.

football players are not some medieval knights to swear their allegiance and loyalty to the king of a country for the rest of their lives.

Bruno Fernandes deserves to play in Premier League, says Sporting boss Silas

And while the 43-year-old does not know when the move will be wrapped up, he says he will not try to discourage Fernandes from leaving for Old Trafford at this point in the season.

"Bruno deserves to play in those kind of leagues and the best is that one. If he is one of the best he has to be there."

But the coach is confident his side will be able to recover from the loss of their star man.

Manchester United have exercised the option to extend defender Eric Bailly’s contract by two years, committing him to the club until the end of the 2021/22 season.

if u look at our biggest current shareholders and how they got the share in the first place you would realize not all of them have the same vested interest in football.
