POFMA! POFMA! POFMA! POFMA! POFMA! POFMA! POFMA! POFMA!

this is why ppl need to get info from credible sources rather than read what ppl say on forum. imagine someone google "vietnam ban singapore from visiting" and ur post comes up on a search and people without further research take the info as is.

Booked tickets for March school holidays (14-18th March) to HCMC before the virus outbreak. I am taking the risk to go ahead until unless either Vietnam or Scoot cancels the flight. Looks like, nothing of that sort is happening.

Can any one help advise on

1. visa for non-singaporeans, there doesn't seem to be a legitimate embassy or immigration website to get the details for Vietnam.

2. recommendations to stay near city center for family ($100-150SGD per day)

thanks in advance.

Thanks for the information. I was finally able to locate the website (government) for e-visa application without bothering with several websites that advertise visa on arrival.

I still have 3 days to decide to go or not. Thanks Henabi for your concern. I am re-considering the vacation.

I have dropped out of my plan and decided to go Sentosa instead. The embassy in Vietnam has mentioned possible cases where the entry back into Singapore will be restricted.

1. anyone on either leg of the flight has covid-19
2. the place where you stay gets a confirmed cases
3. the places where you visit is found out to be an existing cluster

Apart from the above, if anyone in the family runs a fever and/or cough, a mandatory SHN will be issued to the entire family. Not a best time to be in the cross lines of front line warriors.

The hotel that I booked and had 2 confirmed cases informed me that they cannot take in bookings from 8 Mar till May and said I can approach Agoda to cancel free of charge. I have done that. If I can get my money back, I am likely to cancel my trip.

For info, Vietnam is very serious and detailed from the information available online. E.g it stopped flights to and from China and South Korea, its 2 biggest trading partners. The contact tracing is thorough from the website and it ordered the hotel to stop bookings to minimise risk. It stopped visa exemptions from many European countries and any countries with more than 50 new cases in a day or more than 500 cases accumulated. Socialist countries really TOP form when it comes to controls and measures to contain the virus.

If you can go to places like Danang now, I am sure the amusement Parks will be quite empty and you can get good bargains shopping there, since Chinese, Koreans japanese, Europeans all gone....but well, I have work commitments and we do not know what will happen on the 2 leg of flights....

was supposed to fly to Saigon today but got cancelled

from what i hear the Viet govt are very serious and wary about imported cases, but also i hear whispers that they are covering cases up

tiagong got one case in D2 (the poorer side) but it wasn't counted towards the official tally?

You guys should read from credible sources as my wife said so many fake news about the death cases on facebook. They will fine people who post or share fake news about coronavirus.

Starting 16 Mar 2359 hrs, all travellers - including Singapore residents, long-term pass holders, and short-term visitors - entering Singapore with recent travel history to Asean countries, Japan, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom within the last 14 days will be issued with a 14-day stay-home notice (SHN).

not apply to Singapore’s sea and land crossings with Malaysia, National Development Minister Lawrence Wong said, adding that separate arrangements are currently being worked out by a bilateral joint working group with Malaysia.
