The highly anticipated Redmi Note 9 series is confirmed to go official next week on March 12. We actually got several hints from the official Redmi India Twitter account as well as Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain.

From the official teasers, we can see the Redmi Note 9 series will sport a four-camera array on the back housed in a square cutout. An Amazon placeholder also touts the newest Redmi Notes will offer premium design, immersive gaming experience and improved fast charging capabilities.

The Note 9 Pro is expected to come with a 6.67" LCD display of FHD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It will have a 16MP selfie cam while around the back will sit 48MP main shooter, 8MP ultrawide snapper, 5MP macro cam and a depth helper.

The Snapdragon 720G SoC is tipped to sit at the helm with 4/6GB RAM while storage options will be 64GB and 128GB. Battery-wise we should expect a 5,020mAh cell with 18W charging speeds.

Can confirm the specs of #RedmiNote9Pro:
-Aurora Blue, Glacier White & Interstellar Black
-4GB+64GB & 6GB+128GB.
-6.67" FHD+ 20:9 LCD Gorrila Glass 5 Display
-16MP Punch Hole Front Camera
-48MP Main, 8MP Ultra-Wide, 5MP Macro & Depth Camera
-SD720G, 5020mAH Battery, 18W Charging pic.twitter.com/0yk5hWxEwm

Makes the Redmi Note 8 Pro old now, gotten mine for just 2 months only. :s13:
Anyway, interesting to see how the 720G stacks up against the G90T, since Realme used the G90T in the cheaper 6 and 720G in the 6 Pro, and the YouTube comment sections are all saying what G90T seems more powerful than 720G on paper. Looks like they are incrementally improving from the Note 8 Pro, notched display to punch-hole cutout and a larger battery. Interesting to see the 48MP primary compared to the predecessor 64MP primary, but my guess is they are using a Sony 48MP sensor this time.

erm.....
It is almost confirmed that Xiaomi will launch its Redmi Note 9 Pro on March 12. The smartphone is speculated to feature the latest mid-tier hardware along with a new camera setup. Now, according to leaks, the company might also launch another smartphone on March 12 -- the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.

As of now, there is no information on the features or the specifications of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. However, it is said that the device will be based on MediaTek Dimenisity 800 SoC, which is a mid-tier 5G capable processor. Some reports do suggest that the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max with MediaTek 5G chipset might only launch in China. This will be the first smartphone with the Max nomenclature on the Redmi Note series of smartphones. Compared to the regular Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Max moniker is likely to come with a big display, larger battery, and a much powerful processor.

No sign of the standard Note 9. From the pricing, it seems like the Note 9 Pro takes over from the standard Note 8 and Note 9 Pro Max takes over the Note 8 Pro.

I feel the differences are too minimal. No compelling reason to get the Max version over Pro, only difference is the primary camera?

There's 33W fast charge on the Note 9 Pro Max too, a compelling differentiator to the Note 9 Pro.

However, this time round Redmi removed NFC on both the two Note 9 Pro phones. Note 8 Pro and Note 8T used to have it.

Indian models of Redmi models usually have no NFC. Redmi Note 8 Pro, K20, K20 Pro and Poco X2 all have NFC removed when the equivalent Chinese version has them.

I see, hopefully the Redmi Note 9 Pro available outside of India has NFC support otherwise they are going backwards.

SMFH. Who made the decision the sell the pro max with minor changes over the pro? Redundant device, would have been better if the pro max was substantially bigger. And they shamelessly ripped off apple marketing.

Rather minor difference between PRO and PRO MAX.

PRO MAX with 64MP f1.9 1/1.72" wide cam and 32MP selfie cam with 33W fast charging

PRO version just 48MP f1.8 1/2.25" wide cam and 16MP selfie cam with standard 18W fast charging.

Everything remain the same?

Rather they call the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max as Redmi Note 9 Pro+ instead, since Max usually refers to bigger version instead. (cues Mi Max :s13:)

But I guess they want to tap on the marketing of Apple to generate some news. :s22:
