Hello guys, have a question about how effective installing a false ceiling & layers of rockwool will be in reducing noise coming from upstairs.

The noise isnt excessive, but I suffer from mild misophonia, and the noise from above are just enough to constantly get on my nerves.

These mainly include footsteps, loudness 2-3 out of 10 + vibration from impact, and occasional dragging of furniture, loudness 4-5 out of 10. Have spoken to my neighbors a couple times and although they are trying their best, the HDB walls here are too thin.

So just wondering if the above false ceiling combo would help to minimize the noise.

Thank you guys in advance!

Part and parcel of HDB.
My neighbors upstairs has a bunch of Heffalumps. They would stomp their feet and slam the door from 5am till 1am

Yeah typical issues of a high rise apartment.

Best is to communicate your concerns to your neighbors.
