If monthly recurring date of the payment is after the number porting, should I do a manual payment?

If monthly recurring date of the payment is after the number porting, should I do a manual payment?

For example, suppose one mobile provider deducts the money to pay for the account on say 3rd day of the month.

And suppose my number porting is to be done say on the 1st of the month.

Should I do a manual payment for the bill to facilitate smooth number porting, as I read that number porting may fail if the outstanding amount is not paid?
