His core base 40% and just a high white turnout, he may win!

that's what you think.

the president of united states is not voted by the general population but by something called electoral college. The states only vote for who gets into the electoral college. Once in, the people can choose who to vote for.

Anyway many hidden sources if you go read on reddit / political sites / other us domestic forums got say that Trump is highly likely to be the next president. Joe Biden at most got 40% chance to win nia. And Bernie sanders 0 chance to win.

even foxs news put trump around 10% behind biden. but biden looks too old and weak.

If this is what Trump is hoping for by provoking China just to win more votes in Nov, then it will be the 1st time that a US election outcome is determined by the amount of blood spilt by deliberately starting a conflict...not with a small country, but against a nuclear power.

And so what is wrong if his actions are to create an "American First" environment?

No VP have beat a sitting president since the 12th amendment passed. The 12th forced the vp to be on the same ticket as the president. Thomas Jefferson is the only VP that beat a sitting president. He was the 3rd president of the USA.

Nixon was the only VP to won a open white house (no sitting president) not through succession. He was also the governor of CA and run twice for the white house.

Only governors have a chance of beating a sitting president.

The last president that came from a small state is JFK.

This is exactly how Hong Kong works to elect their Chief Executive, albeit the people who votes for the electoral college is of small group of specific individuals accounting for 5-10% of HK population.

This is correct. The states select the president because the USA is a republic.

Biden is a VP. VP are political dead end career. VP get into the White House through succession, jfk (killed) -> lbj, fdr (died in office) -> truman, Reagan -> Bush. The only VP that won the white house not through succession is Nixon. He won a open white house (no sitting president) and had to tried twice. Nixon was the governor of CA. His political career: Senator -> VP -> Governor of CA. When Nixon won the White House he was a governor of CA. If you go by this no VP have won the white house that is not from succession since the 12th amendment have passed.

Only one VP have beat a sitting president abd that was before the 12th amendment. Thomas Jefferson the third president of the USA is the only VP that beat a sitting president.

No rules that prevent running twice. However no one will vote for losers. It will be very hard for losers to get funding for another run. It getting close to a billion dollar to run for the white house.

Only one person in modern time successfully won the white trying twice, that was Nixon. American believed nixon got cheated by jfk.

Nixon supporters pushed Nixon to run again. He was the governor of CA at that time, so everything was in place for him to win the white House.

Lol what does this have to do with china and America first. This basically happen regardless of who is president. This is Americans exercising their god given rights.

My think is:

By popular votes, as in the last round, he would gain even lower numbers.

However, where electoral college, which really matters, is concerned, Trump will win just with a slightly lower margin compared to the last election.

Regardless of personal integrity issues, Americans of Trump's voter base like strongmen. To them, indiscretion, adultery, lies, exploitativeness, fillipant, etc are just part of the prowess and suite of tools of a US presidency.

So, Trump will serve out a second term as US President. Singapore should not misread by relying on perspectives of consultants, think-tanks analysis, views exchange with other foreign missions, previous Administration personalities, or op-ed of major papers. Clinton was read wrongly, and it was at least a good thing Trump did not take it personally.

Go and walk the grounds!

Whilst many dislike him, at a national level concerning, G2G, Trump did Singapore no harm, save for cancelling TPP and other platforms, but Singapore was not specifically targeted.

Singapore's issues remain :

Economic
Survival amidst growing powers of emerging states

The fundamental challenges of statehood remains now, as it was in 1965.

In 1965, China was formenting insurrections, often causing local Chinese to fight other Chinese, loosing lives. India cared only about itself - the desire to be leader of the NAM and G77. Egypt was conscious Singapore is a non-believer state. MAPHLINDO was at our neck.

The ones who responded to our calls for help then, and it will be, in the future are:

The 5 Eyes
Israel
Taiwan

Notwithstanding they may have parallel agendas of their own. Our future nervousness shall continue to revolve around the long-held notion that Chinese and Indian Singaporeans are non-natives in Peninsula SEA in general, and in Singapore in particular.

We work with whoever enables our economic survival and grants us security protection for small states.

For once, we agree having senior citizens trading childish insults (notice one even stick out his tongue while at the wheel of his dolled-up golfcart is a joke itself) ....For any fair minded person, this is one of many sign of an extremely divided, insecure and fragmented country the World has witness in so many fronts... From 1% vs 99%, partisan catfights in the Gov, economy mismanagement, racial violence from coast to coast and now even the elders are joining the fry....What has US to show the world today ??? Evangelising democracy and Human rights ideals abroad while systematic racism remains the core value of America's heart and soul since its independence...Even US military bases are named after slave traders.....What a JOKE!

An edmwer earlier asked what is wrong with having "America First"...I supposed, with the benefit of hindsight and common sense -- everything has gone wrong in America today...safe a few high-profile feel-good events like SpaceX and eerr..anything else ??

Now question is - Where will this lead America to ...regardless of the Nov Election outcome. Your reply can't be any more worst - "America are so strong. We fight 24/7 365 days a year". HA!
