my t9 android box ethernet connection keep disconnecting after several minutes. changed cables already, same problem. ethernet is connected before wireless by default. no on/off for ethernet. there are any settings to check to see if the ethernet is faulty ? reset the t9 ?

Try change the Ethernet cable first. If still got problem, try factory reset.

Also better buy quality box from more reputable brands like Xiaomi, Nvidia, Minix, Beelink, etc.

Minix NEO T5 (S$99 from Shopee) can be a good box if you do not need Netflix HD.

factory reset last option. think my next purchase will be the Xiaomi.

Disconnect the LAN cable and see if wireless is working (no disconnection).

https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/new...e-alexa-powered-streaming-down-to-30-dollars/

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/24/ama...-stick-lite-announced-price-release-date.html

New low end Amazon Fire TV Stick (US$40, Dolby Atmos) and FireTV Stick Lite(US$30), 1080p only but with HDR support.

Competitors:
Google Chromecast dongle 1080p
Xiaomi TV Stick 1080p

4k supported competitors:
Xiaomi Mi Box S
Amazon FireTV Stick 4k (US$50, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos)
Google Chromecast Ultra

Price may go down by US$10 or more for Amazon devices during sales, making them very good buys. If not, then better buy Xiaomi Mi Box S which is still the best sub S$100 TV boxrs in the context of Singapore users.

(1) Currently, Xiaomi Mi TV stick is selling at S$37.90 on Qoo10 (+$1.99 delivery fee).

(The delivery fee can be waived if you buy at least S$60 at Qoo10 together w/ other items that also has same type $1.99 delivery fee)

If you just want to get a cheap Chromecast capable + Neflix certified device, then S$37.90 is currently one of the low cost option.

But Xiaomi Mi TV stick is up to 1080p only + just 1GB RAM.

***
(2) I've shared before in the Xiaomi Android TV box thread -- that Xiaomi 4K Mi Box S is selling at SGD$70 on Qoo10 (+ FREE delivery).

Today + next 3 days (25/9 to 28/9), Qoo10 has $10 off discount coupon -- which you can collect at this link below:
https://www.qoo10.sg/supersale

Once collected -- this Qoo10 $10 off discount coupon is valid to use till Mon 28/9.

You can apply this $10 off coupon when buying the Xiaomi 4K Mi Box S selling at SGD$70.

After applying the $10 coupon, the new Xiaomi 4K Mi Box S will only cost ($70 - $10) = $60 + FREE delivery.

Personally, between (1) S$38 (USD$27.85) Xiaomi 1080p Mi TV stick or (2) S$60 (USD$43.95) Xiaomi 4K Mi Box S -- I'll still get the Mi Box S :)

It's up to you --- both are not expensive at above current prices :D

Quick glance through Lazada shows X96Q to be of H313 CPU and below S$30. Other below S$30 boxes are usually super low end S905W and RK3229 CPU based. Indeed H313 should be faster than them and can be pretty decent with 2GB/16GB configuration. Taobao price is roughly RMB105 or S$21. The worry of H313 CPU is main thermal.

Box to avoid: hot H6 and H616 based boxes like TX6 and TX6S. They are known to have thermal issues.

Have you checked the CPU temperature for the H313 box?

Review of X96Q says it is hot and can not play pubg.

Same here, very satisfied with my S905X3-based A95X F3 Air. It remains cool even after 5 hours straight use.
A95x got QC issues. My A95x f3 slim died after a week, A95x f3 air also died after a week.

Are you using Starhub Streaming Box or the new Starhub TV+ box?

Have you tried it? What is the issue you encountered?

Reports of failure to install 3rd party apps for Srarhub TV+ box, but it is pretty new box so we may need to wait for more reports.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...ed-cable-tv-fibre-tv-starhub-5792737-246.html

It's the starhub tv+ box. I tried using the downloader app from playstore to access 3rd party applications but it seems that the app can't access the tv box directory.

I tried to unlock developer settings on the android box too but it is pin protected and I don't think it's done from my side. Hmmm hope someone figures it out.

you expect no brand boxes to have qc?

why waste time waste money on qc when there is no reputation to protect?

Is there any apk that can watch Singapore free to air channels?

Yes, meWATCH from MediaCorp.
https://www.mewatch.sg/en/

Take note it is not available for Android TV OS so the recommended way is to cast from phone if you have Android TV OS based device like Mi Box S. It is possible to side load the apk but the user experiences may not be so good (YMMV).
