Noticed nobody really talks about Zen+ architecture (2000 series)...is it because its too old in the market?

Because it is you who created this thread named "AMD Zen 3 Ryzen 5000". Most discussion or in fact all discussion should be related to 5000 series. You might want to dig out the old thread of 2000 series or start a new 2000 series thread.

Most people are comparing the 3000 series and 5000 series. The most bang for buck should be 3000 series (Overseas) "soon". 5000 series upgrade is for those who have old system like DDR3 or early DDR4 system. If I have a 3000 series CPU, I won't considered getting 5000 series. Waste of Moolah.

1 gen upgrades are almost never worth it. but when u are looking at it with a 1600/2600, it becomes much more appealing. 30-40% ipc improvement, clock speed improvements, same tdp.

We have to wait for Intel's counter strike with Tiger Lake desktop processors to threaten AMD to reduce price of their new 5000 series processors.

Cant wait for AMD to regain 50% of the Pc market share. Let’s see how long Intel can carry on bleeding.

Now why i seriously worry what happen when AMD achieved that, the price will be over the roof like how the Intel 6950X was. Rmb there is $2000 cpu from intel?

Problem is before AMD gain back 50% market share and they are hiking so much.

I believe $50 price hike is reasonable, but the 5800X should have been worth $379 ($329+50), not $449.

8 cores as expensive as Intel 10-Cores, that is downright stupid.

Also review haven confirm Zen 3 is indeed faster than Intel in most games, all first hand review from manufacture are best case senario (rmb NV claim about 3080 twice as fast as 2080?)

If the 8 Core tiger lake CPU with 10% IPC improvement comes at US$350-400, it will be a good purchase as compared to Zen 3.

Well, ball’s in intel’s court again so it’s up to them how they want to play next.

It wasn’t for AMD to survive as the much smaller brother for so long while getting trampled all over. I believe in AMD’s management more than Intel’s based on status quo.

But then again will AMD expand the 5000 series to more models?

Same CPU as me. I guess you also hope for newer X670 motherboards to go along with 5000 series? Else we buy X570 with 5000 series. Any further upgrades will require us to replace the CPU Mobo Ram totally.

But I guess we are stuck to B550 X570 series for now. Even if there are 600 series, it won't be worthwhile to switch to once u have settled for 500series mobo.

:)

Same sentiment here. Was hoping for a new chipset but doesnt seem like it.
Guess the new chipset will be for next Ryzen.

Ryzen 5000 seem to be the final piece for AM4 socket.

After looking online, leaning towards the B550 series :D

I think I would slap 5900x and leave it for many years. But wah, u using 2080? Ain't the CPU bottlenecking like crazy? Hahaha. I upgraded GPU once already then found that CPU is bottlenecking me. Then upgrade monitor, GPU bottlenecking me like crazy. Time for overhaul.

OT : I wonder if Ionicle88 is still here in HWZ? I only rmb NightRaven but Join Date: May 2019 seems weird...

Its not about favouring, any brand that offer a good price performance ratio i will jump.

I used to bash intel like no tml, but now I love them for their pricing, I have no brand loyalty, except to my wallet.

And for those who know me well, I can play the waiting game for as long as 5-6 years. Until either company start to buck up and offer good price performance ratio.

Building a PC is akin to buying a car, over time value sure depreciate and a fast one too.

LOL, me too. I used to be royal AMD supporter. Now, I see their pricing.... I rather go for Intel.
