This thread is so excellent.

In 2006 however, esp towards the end of 2006, we should start to optimize for 1600x1200 gaming experience liao. This is because excellent 20" 1600x1200 monitors like the LG 2010P is dropping price and getting so exciting.

For this kind of res, need great GPU of course, but 256bit is getting to be important esp if you want to do this res with AA and AF - but of course everything still depend a lot on benches. If you accept this argument, power enthusiast level should start from 6800GS liao.

updated, including those special offers during this period of IT show. You will be surprised by the low prices of 'yesterday' cards. :)

Re-adjusted the recommendations and cards to avoid. A few good 'yesterday' cards got bumped to the category of cards to avoid.

Recommended cards are predominantly Nvidia, unless the price drops (X1600 and X1800 series) by ATI filters down to the Singapore retail........

For those who don't mind 2nd hand items, there will be a constant pool of AGP users who upgrade to PCIe and hence selling their high-end cards cheaply.

Looks reasonable. US price is $299 translate to S$ is 490, add shipping and GST, around 550. Expect price to soften a bit after the IT show.

So Leadtek 7600GT 256MB @ $349 is the best deal? Is there tv in/out for this one? Any reviews out?
