I just went for the Ngong Ping Cable car on monday, reached around 12noon..not much ppl. Waited only around 10 min or less to board the cable car.

The Wisdom Path is under some construction, so there are scarfoldings on the wooden beams, might not be very picturesque though.

thanks for the reply memphis :)

i was thinking of reaching there at 10am (the time it opens to go up). Anyone has experience going there on a weekday morning can share please? :)

by the way, memphis, do we need to pay entrance fee to go up the big buddha?

also saw on the website that there is a tour 'walking with buddha' and 'monkey..' tours..

did u join those tours? :)

Just before u went up the stairs to the buddah, there are counters selling tix which is acutally for vegetarian dining/snacks. We thought we need to purchase them (I cant understand cantonese) but actually no need. Just ignore them and climb up the stairs.

The walking with buddah and monkey tours we didn't go. Ngong Ping Village is similar to "Tang Dynasty" @ Ocean Park if you have been there. Thus these tours are housed inside those ancient chinese bldgs.

Enjoy your trip!

most shopping mals and shops open around 11am. at around 10am very few are open for business. better to spend time yum cha and chill out.

Ocean park is as far from disney land and new terrorities, but its faster from disneyland to ocean park as there are high speed rail and road links directly to hong kong island.

If your flight frong Changi is at 10am don't have to go there so early.
10am should be Cathay flight.
You can check in on line, choos your seats, and as long as arrive 45 mins b4 departure at the check in counter can liao.

The high speed rail i am referring to is the Tung Chung Line.

The KCR operates a number of railways (one which is near your hotel) and connects them to the city area in kowloon peninsular. Basically, most train services in HK (Except cross border services) are similar to S'pore, just use the octopus card and tap and go. Road link yes, by buses, or if budget is not a concern, taxis.
