about atm card , if you find there is a word 'PLUS' on the back of your ATm card then you can draw money from hk bank ATM machine but need to see if you find "PLUS' label near the ATM machine...

as when I go china , i also can draw money from their bank ATM machine with this 'PLUS ' label

To kenloonglow:

Yep, should take the MTR slight further down the line to Kwun Tong - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwun_Tong_Station_(MTR)

APM City - big shopping center.
Finds salegirls here pretty. Something to keep your eyes occupied while the wife shops. :D

Note - plan your meals here, waiting time at restaurant is about 30 to 60 min. Make your reservations about 1/2 to 1 hour before you plan to eat.

Alternative is the food court - stand and wait for others to finish. Skip dessert stall at food court - too sweet and not very nice. Also note the difference in the way the food court is run - order, get a ticket, pay at cashier, wait for your number to be called (something like that)

Thanks for all suggestions. Written into my list :p

Can tell what time to eat less crowded (for bf,lunch, dinner) ?

So my trip will be
Day 1: Mongkok
Day 2: Tsim Sa Shui/Yau Ma Tei
Day 3: Central (look many things here, 1 day enough?)
Day 4: Wong Tai Sin
Day 5: Shem Sui Po (look not many things here, worth?)

Pss! pei sei to ask, but like to know...how much HK$ normally u guys bring? :o

Also, heard from frn taking pic of ppl performing on the street need to pay $$$, also some shop dun allow to take pic, any1 can explain more details :s11:

Hi this is my suggestion for you.

Day 1: TST + YMT + MK - Try to go in the late evening till late. That is when these places look the best. Remember to cut through Portland Street, Temple Street, Ladies Street.

Day 2: Central + CSB & etc - Walk along Hollywood Road, SOHO and mid-level. Visit The Peak and lastly shop @ CSB.

Day 3: Suggest you combine your SSP and WTS trip together since both places are on the Northern Kowloon. You may consider going to SSP to look for electronic stuffs 1st and detour to WTS later, after that you *should* go back to your hotel. (you will know why when u r there). LOL

Day 4: If you still have spare time/days. Consider a day at 1 of the outlying islands like Lantau or Lamma or Cheung Chao.

Hope this helps.

I am going Macau and HK in April. :)

Since your wife likes to shop, bring her to Trendyland (whic sells Hello Kitty & Disney gifts), especially the one in Cameron Road, near a big music shop called Tom Lee. When I was last there, the cashier was really eye candy that took away the drugdery of waiting for the wife and kids.
Service can be surprisingly good in HK; even the waiter in a el cheapo cafe was very polite.
Speaking about Trendyland in Hong Kong. When you go Disneyland in Hong Kong, try not to buy in Disneyland gift shop as for some are quite expansive. You might find Trendyland might be cheaper, especially on promotion...

Even you walk to 7/Eleven or K Mart you will be also greeted by the staffs.

Well if you intend to revisit 波鞋街, make it fast then. They will be rebuilding this district very very soon. The entire project takes years to complete. fyi.

Hey i'm intending to go from 28th May to June 1st. Is it too late to book from Apr 2nd onwards? Because I am going overseas this coming Friday, no time to book. Will also miss the NATAS Travelfair.

Is it cheaper to book the tics and hotel thr agency or individually?

Thanks.

Buy @ Trendyland. But note: Trendyland may have a different range of products and the products may not say "Hongkong Disneyland" (you pay a premium for this phrase).

Alternatively, checkin early, there is an official HK Disney shop at the departure hall. Those money grabbing b*stards. Won't even let you off on the way home.
