FutureStar:
Forumer Boonzz reported:
futurestar is no-frills and quite newly renovated. i have no complaints about my "sleep" there. i am out most of the time... for S$60-100, our only requirement is that it is clean, no damp or funny smell, no sagging bed and no creepy crawlies running across my legs at night
For those who would like to stay in Jioufen fora night:
for jiufen, i i was too keen to unload my fullpack and stayed in a mingsu which is just outside the entrance to the old street:

i took rm302 which i reckoned was the best for ntd1200. it's small, clean, with attached bath and the view was decent (overlooking the bay). owner stayed on the 2nd floor and there is a quad room on the 4th. the rooftop is empty though, i dont see any seats/table as shown in the website.
i would have preferred staying within the old street itself. found subsequently many mingsu's within the old street with available rooms for the weekday. most charge around ntd1000-1200 for weekdays and ntd200-300 more for weekend. if i were to do it again, i will still go during tues to thurs, check out the rooms/views before i book. if the room no view, at least the rooftop balcony must be good.
