Hi just booked my 5D4N trip for $665/pax. 2 nights in new territories (Harbour Plaza Resort) and 2 nights in Kowloon (YMCA). Hotel transfer and airport tax included, taking C. Pacific. Included is the 2nd day morning to afternoon trip to Lantau island for HK$50/pax. (Should I go for this Lantau Island trip?)

Initial draft of Itinerary.

Day 1 - Reach HK at 1200hrs. Check in at Hotel. Shopping at Ginza, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun. (Any comments on where should I go between these 4 places?)

Day 2 - Lantau Island followed by The Peak in the night.

Day 3 - Hotel transfer from New Territories to Kowloon's YMCA in the morning 1000hrs followed by shopping around the city markets.

Day 4 - Morning Ocean Park followed by short Macau Trip come back by night.

Day 5 - Check out hotel at 1400hrs. Last min shopping till 1700hrs.

Few questions here.

1) Should I go for othe Lantau Island trip? Whats there on Lantau Island?
2) Ginza, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun. Any comments on these 4 places?
3) Both of the hotels have wireless broadband internet services but do I need to pay for it? Are they available in the room as well cause I heard some is only available at the F&B outlets.
4) Whats the current rates for HK Dollars and where is a good place to change?
5) Any recommendations of must-try food delicacy?

Thanks.

Ngong Ping 360 Skyrail
Shopping & Lunch @ Citygate (Tung Chung MTR)
5pm – Yip Fat Factory Building (Kwun Tong MTR)

Ngong Ping 360 is a very boring ride (yes view not bad but still gets boring after 5 min; 20 to 25 min ride stuck with ~15 other strangers). Nothing much to do at the Ngong Ping Village (Buddha's walk (10min) and Monkey Tales (5 min) are very short presetations. Just look see, eat and take photo only. Can walk up to the bid Buddha if you wish.

On the other hand, depending on the crowd situtation, to arrive at 10am and be back by 12noon for lunch at Citygate is a little optimistic. Queues can be long 30 to 45 min on weekends. Add that to the ride timing, multiply it 2 ways and you can see why.

If I had to choose, I'll go Citygate instead of Ngong Ping.

IMHO, not an essential visit.

Sorry what I meant was booking the ferry tickets on Day 3 and go on Day 4. Intending to book the ticket to go at 12pm and come back at 8.30pm.

Not really sure how long should I spend at Macau. Just wanna go Senado Square & Red Market for some shopping. Buy some lao gong, lao po cookie, Lord Stow Egg Tart and try the Portugese food there. Then look look see see at the Sands Casino or Casino Lisboa and nearby theme park.

What do you think?
