For HK Disneyland admission tickets,

will it be better to order first or is the same as getting on the day itself?

Pre-book with credit card (but must remember to bring same card along).
No queue at collection station, even on eve of public holiday.

Just came back from hong kong last friday, Stay @ Eaton Hotel & Nathan Hotel, which is side by side.

Eaton Hotel
* 4 star hotel by hong kong famous langham hotel group
* Smaller room 19 sqm
* better service very friendly stuff that greet you everyday
* 24hr security at service, esp at the main lobby & drop off area, security duty 24hrs or should I call man in black & help you to press lift & greeting you.
* Breakast @ coffee shop, normal nothing special or much thing to eat, mostly ang moh eat there during the morning
* free wireless @ the b1 cafe, just get a cup of coffee & you get to surf for free

Nathan Hotel
* 3 star hotel
* large room, esp their triple room so large that you will go o_O! more then 38 sqm
* roof top bar, the bail is really a nice place to chill out.
* intresting lift that have a comic strip showing different image when you take the lift up & down.

If Compare both, eaton is a better service & room comfort, unless you wan a large room go for nathan, comfort is eaton. price different, both hotel price is about the same around HK$700+-, but if eaton have promotion you can get a room @ HK$590, that is the room rate i get & include breakfast too.

sorry, one more qn:

'cuz using the CC to book the tix will be using bank's lower conversion rate, hence i'm thinking going there to buy at the counter. Is it true that the queue is usually long, especially July will be the school holidays in HK?

I went on 24 Dec 2006 - the manual ticketing queue looked pretty long. Whereas, I got into the park within 2 min of arrival at the ticket dispensing machine.

Time vs money - I'll leave it to the philosophers to answer the question.

ps - don't forget that China is also having Summer School Holidays in July.

Juz came back from Hong Kong 2 weeks ago, juz a short debrief of my tour to share with fellow forumers. Feel obligated to do it since I have pick up many information from here.

- Arrived at Macau Intl Airport @1500hr by TigerAirway.
- Take a cab to the ferry terminal, cab fare is MOP$55
- Book the next ferry to HK, tix price is HK$140 per pax.
- The journey was quite bumpy coz of the choppy water. Entire journey is 70 minute. Saw a boy vomit on the ferry due to sea-sickness. :s8:
- Arrive at 中港码头, took bus #3C to Mongkok and alighted infront of Sincere House
- Check into DragonHostel (Room price is HK$260 per nite for a double ensuite)
- Room is awfully small but very clean.
- Spend the next two days at HK.
- Done most of my shopping at HK Industrial Centre & 花園街
- Day 4, check out of hotel and depart for ZhuHai
- Take a ferry from 中港码头 to Zhuhai, tix price is HK$170 per pax.
- The journey is around 70 min.
- Arrive at Zhuhai, 九洲港
- Take the free shuttle bus to GongBei, check-in hotel
- Meet up with an old classmate at a seafood restaurant.
- The seafood varieties in Zhuhai is amazing, and is at least 40-50% cheaper than SG.
- The roast chicken and goose are also very cheap here, I love the roast chicken. The meat is so tender and juicy, nothing compared to the one you have in SG.
- Clothing are dirt cheap here, but it's not as trendy as the clothing in HK and SG.
- Day 6, cross the border custom in GongBei to Macau. From GongBei to the custom, it is only a 5-minute drive on cab.
- Not much fun in Macau, the portugese food and egg tarts is a MUST here though.
- Forget about casino if it's not your cup of tea. There are free shuttle bus services from custom to the casino. Only those above 18yr old are allowed to take the shuttle bus service.

Well, is it walkable distance around the tourist attractions or it's easier to take a bus?

You mentioned that you took a cab from the macau airport to ferry terminal and paid MOP, HK$ not widely used?

HK dollars is heavily used in macau

For both my trips from macau airport to the ferry terminal and vice versa, I paid with HK dollars and even got change in HKD instead of MOP. I went at the same time as dngth so there shouldnt be any problem using the currency in macau.

Ooo... egg tarts shouldnt be missed!

Macau is quite small, there is not a lot of tourist attractions, tink most tourists go there for the casino. You can try taking the bus if u r familiar with the bus services. Don't attempt to ask for direction from the bus driver in Macau. :s27:

You can use either MOP or HK$ in Macau, but the cab driver may return u the change in MOP.
For shop and macau, you can request for the change to be in HK$ if u pay them HK$.

I brought a camelbag to disneyland.....4L. 2 person share. Then again the food there not that ex...like sentosa prices.

book tic? no need. Not so sought after like JApan's, sure got. Buy on spot is safer cos if you book weekday but suddenly realise only sat/sun got time go....and vice versa.

coffeeSG as i am in Hong Kong right now...

Travel cheap, how cheap depands on you...
If you had done some research or done some home work about Hong Kong.
have been to Suntec City, HKTB Office to find out more...

You might save a few $$$ on it...

Hong Kong is always good for free and easy.

Tour package is always a waste of my time, as i find there more local food and places i will & want to go in Hong Kong...

another way to save $$$ in hongkong:
if you use octopus card, do look for the fare saver posters located in the MTR, it will tell you places where you can scan you octopus card for HKD2 ($0.40) off the fare at the nearest MTR.
For example, for Tsim Sha Tsiu, there's one at penisular hotel where you can tap your octopus card for HKD2 off your next ride (within the same day) from TST

of course, if the fare saver station is too far from the place you wanna go, it might not be worth it
