Just be careful with the service from them though.. my phone is with them for 2 weeks already, and they tell me it will take few more weeks to repair.. Damn...

Nobody ever call me back.. I have to keep calling them to get information...That's the worst service I got so far from a handphone company...

Their 1800 238 7788 is based from their Taiwan Customer Service Ctr. Number given is not helpful at all but they did try to comfort me by saying, "Don't worry Sir, when your phone is ready, we will contact you." Exact same phrase repeated three times for the past two days. They contact the local Service Ctr via email and I demanded for their email address. Wonder if they will ever reply.

Used the number given in this forum but no one answer. I have a strong feeling their phone is sharing the same defect with my 818 Pro. No sound hence not alearted when there's a call.
Worst after phone sales service so far.

Bros, The one at leng kee is bad.. they seem to lack of the technical knowledge. the one that serves you arent the technical staff.. so they cannot explain to you sufficiently. The place looks just like a lousy office.

Go to the one at keppel bay tower. It's near Vivocity. The tower which has the cable cars going above it. If you walk from vivocity.. go straight to the last building.. you will see Canon. HTC Care is right behind it.. small cosy place.. You can see the familiar green colour..

What's more.. They have HTC/Dopod products and advertisements all over. You can't go wrong. The technical staff works just behind the counter. They are extremely helpful and polite.

Believe me. you want professional advice. Go to the one at Keppel bay tower.

SIS Service Centre for DOPOD - HOPELESS CASE

Hi
(Be warned, it's long story, rather complaint, unfinished as yet.)

just want to add my experience with the Dopod service centre. REALLY REGRETTED I didn't check the forum response on the two service center before I send the phone in for repair.

Brought my phone, D810 in, purchased on 14 Apr 2007 on Friday 26 Oct 2007.
My phone has died on me that same morning 8am, been having the battery draining very fast for the whole week. A fully charged battery can't last 12 hours. But they don't do contacts back up unless you have your own laptop (and downloaded and installed the active sync/outlook).
The part-timer who attended to me said better for me to bring phone home for contacts backup. Alternatively, I can also bring along the laptop and they will help me to backup.

Cut long story short, brought the phone back in on Monday morning, the person attending said they don't install and don't back up. have to download te necessary prog hand back up myself. (lost the CD and it's a new laptop). After much haggling, he finally went in to get another "specialist to assist.

AFter going through the problems with them, they said can complete in 3-5 working days.

I called them again today.
First call 930am, told me he will check and call me back on status.
3pm, I called again to ask for status. The person said he will check what's wrong and return the call.

3.30pm, I called the 4th time to ask for status. The lady said it will take 3-5 days. I told her that's what they said on Mon. She will check and call me back.
3.45pm, lady called to say it's due to faulty battery. and asked when I purchased the phone. Battery and accessories WARRANTY IS ONLY VALID FOR 6 months and I have to pay for the battery replacement, $32.10.

I requested for waiver as the warranty has only lapsed for less than 2 weeks. And I was overseas then. BTW, the details of the warranty (ie, 6 mths for battery and accessories) only available in the website. SIS can't make that waiver as they are vendor.

Then called HTC hotline, 1800-2387788 (provided by SIS) and was told the standard reply and the lady was arrogant and refused to even transfer me to higher authority. (all the managers and supervisors are busy on the phone, even if I leave my number, they may not call me back!!! SUCH RUBBISH AND ARROGANCE AND TERRIBLE SERVICE). And this call centre is based in Taiwan.

CAlled SIS again for HTC Keppel phone number, took her more than 15 minutes to call me back with the phone number, 62718086.

By this time, it's close to 5. The phone rang till dead also no one picked up. Called SIS again for another alternative number, none available.

Decision made: to collect the phone, and then bring to HTC tomorrow morning. Enough said about the whole experience.

Other experience: Another customer (D810) who was at Sis on Mon, apparently also had similar problem of the battery draining very quickly.

Other lesson: the specialist said the proper way to "induct" the battery is actually more than the first 8 hrs charging prior to first use. supposed to let the battery drained and fully charge and repeat another cycle before it's fully "inducted" for longer usage.

Other Dopod D810 owners care to share your experience?

Round two tomorrow!

Hi marsupial.
Sorry to hear about your incident but here are my 2 cents:
1) Backing up contacts, softwares and what not is your responsibility. There is not a company I heard of that will help you backup your stuff since those are your own private things (why would you want anyone to keep copy of your stuff?)
2) Warranty has an expiry date whether if it expired for one day or 2 weeks, it's still expired. I dont see anything wrong on their side to forbid the waiver, in fact, you are actually asking for favor and they are not obligated to answer that favor. Perhaps you should have done more research when you buy a phone (or any other consumer products) as there are parts known as "consumables" and do not even carry warranty and battery is usually one of them (it is already good they gave 1/2 year warranty on such items).
3) Dont see why you fuss over a battery....

Perhaps you should only buy from big chains like Courts and also buy their extended warranty plan and compare if they are more helpful. But then, they may not carry the model you want and also price may not be as competitive.

Lousy Dopod Service

I also had a very similar experience at SIS center. Initially say 2-3 days. never call back. Then say parts take 2-3 weeks to arrive. still never call back. After I called say havent arrive, take another 2-3 weeks!

Worst Service u can get from a mobile phone ompany!!! Looks like the company fly by night and is not interested in having repeat customers!

Would like to know bout this too....heard similar bad encounter regarding dopod RMA service. Coz me thinking of getting the HTC touch dual.

Service so bad one wonders if the encounters are true at all coz such really bad services from handphone company are almost unheard of.........

Got my HTC Touch just last Friday........ and I've been having problem with the alignment... Every 1-2 hrs gotta re-align again everyday!!!

Brought it to the Keppel Bay center just now and was told I got the option of (i) repair at no charge, or (ii) one-to-one exchange at SIS Building.

Called up SIS, and they told me no stock... gotta wait 3 weeks. If not go back to the shop I bought the phone from, for a one-to-one exchange. I called the shop up and they said "NO SUCH THING!"... Wtf.... Give me all kind of wrong information.

Really regret getting it.... Should have just stick to Sony Ericsson.
