one of the better commercial chocolates you can get in Hokkaido (better than Royce) is from Le Tao. They use better grade cocoa beans and you can really relish the difference. Alternatively, visit the many specialist chocolatiers all around major cities of Japan, they are all excellent, much better stuff than you can find in SG. Don't settle for those things you find at the airport, etc, they are pumped full of preservatives and palm oil.
For biscuits (like shiroi koibito, which imo is overrated), Rokkatei and Kitakaro are by far the benchmark brands in Hokkaido, not including smaller companies that produce small batches of designer confectionary. Rokkatei's Marusei Butter is, to this day, the most delicious biscuit i've ever tasted. It's an explosion of delicate small-crumbed buttery shortbread, smooth and whispery white chocolate and tiny bombs of rum-soaked raisins. It's an art piece in your mouth. Each piece costs about $2 but it's so worth it! The sad thing is its shelf-life of merely 3 days...
wat is the dmg for the crab?
tt time i spent approx SG$250 for a huge crab in hokkaido.. dunno whether it is karaba crab
this is mine... think i kanna chopped
dreamer and stars, get this from domestic airport in hokkaido. very nice! must try!!
