TS bought less than 100 bucks and Playsmartsg is selling for 149 ?

Looks interesting for a product under $100.

- does it downmix DTS to stereo ?
- using Realtek 1073DD chipset ? From GUI screenshots, doesn't seems so lor.
- SPDIF digital audio output ? Coaxial or optical or both ? from picture, doesn't seem to have any

Thanks

Haha. I think I managed to answer some of my own questions :)

- It's running AMLogic AML8626H chipset
- it does support both optical and coaxial digital audio output

However, still not sure whether it can support downmix of DTS to stereo.

Hi squirrelgal, would you kindly help to test out the overscan feature with another files with different resolution. Assumming now you play a file with 1080p,720p resolution and uses an up or down button to switch to another video which is has 4.3 resolution, 680 x 480 or 720 x 480 etc etc. (those old video format either in rmvb or avi or another other format). Does the video picture shrink it's sizes and have those black corner?

And what are the option for scanmode?

squirrelgal, thanks very much for willing to test it. Would appreciate if you could test them on a CRT tv as well if you have one esp on the overscan feature. Because this overscan feature is important for some videos as without proper handling this feature some video image four corners are slightly cut off.

For example if the full image is like this

Some images at the four corners are slightly cut off so that some images are lost.

And how is the fast forward and backward speed x2, x4, for files with less than an hour say 45-50 mins video like those rmvb files. Is the fast forward speed very very fast such that it's very hard to fast forward to a particular timing/video frame?

And is the subtitle font too thin such that it's very difficult to see.

And what is the dimension (LxWxH) of the packaging box (the one in black in the first picture).?

Would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

The new firmware is able to support streaming online and you can manage your own BT downloads by loading the seeds into the player....

up for this thread ... also interested in getting one of it...

Think I can organize a MO. But dun think i can provide any warranty. :D But what i can do is to talk to the supplier and do a one for one exchange if got any major problem. I am a very basic user so i didn't test out all the features. Hope u guys understand. But it's good enough as a HDMI player and it serves me very well.
