Vjomurj,

Your compressor should be ble to install outside the windows.
Did u check, the neighbors in your blk, did they install 2 compressors?
If yes, how they place it?

Thanks Terumo Bro! There are some units with the condensers outside the windows...but managed to get hold of a HDB technician...his response was all application for permits to install the condensers outside are put on hold at the moment (for the 6-7 blocks of HDB in my area) due to some structural issues. So no choice for me, have to retain the condenser inside my service balcony.

Vjomurj,
Then maybe inside is the only option for now.

To tootlim.
The equipment is the same. Just that pcb side, some setting Is done so that the compressor doesn't rev as much, thus does not consume much amp. Within the limit.

Hi terumo,

Is this quote reasonable? I got this from kaisoon.

MHI Sys 3 Inverter for 3 bedrooms - $2470
G23 copper pipe
16mm drainage pipe
1/2 inch Class 1 insulation (Insuflex)
1 Trip installation
Unlimited Trunking and Piping
Free Site Survey
5yrs warranty on compressor, 5 yrs workmanship and 1yr spare parts.
Final price included GST, labour, transport and installation.

*Upgrade to Armaflex - add $100
*Upgrade to 3yrs spare parts - add $200

If get ME will be $2670. Is the quote and items reasonable? Should i upgrade to armaflex? I read from online actually insuflex and armaflex is about the same. And the aircon guy told me armaflex is good for absorbtion but not good at bending....is it true?

Anyone have bad or good reviews on kaisoon? Pls advise. Thanks.

Hi terumo, need your advise. Is it worth to upgrade the insulation and spare parts warranty? Thanks.

Hi unity58,

Armaflex is the best (IMO) if upgrade $100 for all 3 fcu is worth it.

For 3 years spare parts, $200 for 3 years warranty is not bad. Buy it for peace of mind. But have to read e terms n conditions carefully,

Their prices are cheaper then most market prices.

Hi Terumo

I have just installed a new System 2 aircon 2 days ago. 1st night was OK. On 2nd night, there was noise from one of the FCU after about 1 or 2 hours operation. The noise is like refrigerant rushing thru the piping. It came on and off in about 5 mins intervals. I shut off the FCU to prevent possible damage.

Do you know what causes this?

I try for about half an hour this morning, and there is no noise from both FCUs.

I am monitoring this noise and will contact the company if this noise returns again.

Thanks for your advice.

Hi Terumo, please help.

bought a resale massionate.aircons are old and need replacing.need 2 x split system(12k+9k+9k btu), (12k+12k+9k btu),and single(18k).total 7 blowers.contractor suggested Mitsubishi Elec. which i will get myself as his company cannot provide 5 year warranty

he is quoting me $ 5,200 just for his works which includes

conceal works such as refrigerant pipes, drainage pipes & wiring and stainless steel brackets for condensing units. ARMAFLEX class 1 insulation , grade 23 copper pipes and 16mm PVC drainages pipes.

i find this excessively high even though it is concealed in brick wall as basically there will not be much hacking since there are existing aircons and pipes and i will be replacing new ones in the same place.

Also price does not include power point.

please help advise.

also posting 1st time so please excuse if made any posting mistakes

thanks
Dave

To viv4040,

the gas sound is normal but shouldn't be too loud.
If the sound persists and is loud, might be the case of a bent copper piping.
Monitor for a few more days and c how.

To daverichard,
The massionate u mentioned is HDB flat?
Cos Hdb allows max 2 outdoor unit.
Or u are staying in private apartment?

Hi Terumo,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Keep fingers crossed. Hopefully the sound is gone for good. Otherwise, will have to call in the guy who do the installation.

hi Terumo,

just got the keys to my new 4 rm flat and thinking of installing a system 3 in my flat.

the aircons is only for the bedrooms.

currently looking at Daikin & Mitsubishi starmex.

we will only utilise the aircon in the MBR at nights and use the other 2 rooms sparingly.

one room is the study room and the other room is for my child due in Oct this year.

is it wise to go for inverter than non-inverter considering the cost difference is about $600 to $800...

how much is the electricity bill difference between inverter and non inverter?

thanks in advance.
