As above.

are they Noctua or Gentle Typhoon fans

which shop in sls is likely to carry these fans in 80mm and 120mm

is there such a thing where i can mount a 120mm fan on an 80mm fan hole?

Thanks for replies in advance.

No you cant mount on a 120mm fan on a 80mm hole.

Neither can you mount a 80mm fan on a 120mm hole.

80mm very little. Not much. 120mm more. Depending on what you wanna use it for.

Can recommend you the Corsair AF120 for airflow chassis. And SP120 for rad.

oh ya forgot to mention

they are for use in a coolermaster elite 130 casing

and i have a watercooling antec khuler 620 so the 120 mm fan is to push and pull for that cpu cooler.

now not sure about the 80mm fan.

Would be good if someone can advise me if i can somehow use a 120mm fan on that 80mm fan slot as i have alot of 120mm fans in the house.

Given the physical dimension and an ex owner of the 120 (not much diff from 130). It is still not possible to mount a 120mm fan at that 80mm hole.

Not gonna work.

The only thing i can think off for that is, i would take the fan out and flip it to exhaust.

a 120mm fan for a 80mm fan hole? unless you drill your casing to fit those screw
80mm fan for 120mm fan hole? some special design fan hole allow you to screw the fan to the 120 fan netting hole.

Is it this fan?

Cooler Master: PWM Fan 80mm

normally with the heat my gt560ti produces its 77 now with most of the 120mm fans in an aerocool matx casing.

i have antec khuler 620 water cooler.

in fact the two front intake fans are 120mm now one is the aerocool fan and the other is the xigmateak fan I got from you long long time ago

side fan to take out air is a coolermaster one.

except in my new coolermaster elite 130 case i can't use 120mm fans else I would just reuse.

good idea about turning it to exhaust fan actually.

Hi

what about this fan adapter thing?

Nexus Fan Adapter 80mm/92mm to 120mm CFA-300

Nexus Fan Adapter 80mm/92mm to 120mm
Change your 80mm or 92mm to be a 120mm

Get more or quieter cooling for your 80 or 92mm solution!
Most cases and some heat sinks are designed with 80mm or 92mm fans. 120mm fans offer the same airflow at a much lower RPM, resulting quiet operation. They may also offer much higher airflow at the same RPM, resulting in better cooling. This adapter will allow you to mount a 120mm fan on a place designed for 80mm fans (if room allowed).

Features :

1 units black fan adapter in one package
12 screws for any installation
quick and easy solution!
universal design

Specifications:
Universal application for 80/92mm fans to 120mm fan

[LxWxH] 4.80x4.80x1.3inch

Which shop in Sim Lim Square sells the Corsair AP series and AF series fans? I have a Fractal Design Core 1000 casing and need a 120mm front intake fan and 92mm rear exhaust fan. But not sure if I should put the AP or AF in front or back.

Where can I buy Arctic Cooling F12 and F9 series fans?

Dude, stop hijacking other people's thread to ask your own questions.

GT AP15...no fight
Corsair i feel a bit too commercialized....their fans are okay nia.

See the review and hear the noise quality.

Try gentle typhoons. I've been using them for 2 years. All I can hear are air rushing out from my outtake. :) can buy at chamoxa sls.

I used to do fan review here, and my last fan review was 4 years ago before it suddenly stopped. It stopped because I stumbled upon a Gentle Typhoon AP15, which was still relatively unknown here at that time.

I stopped because I knew the design is way beyond it's time. It basically blew everyone out of the water and no fan will ever come close to it for the next few years.

It's been 5+ years since it was released and everyone's still recommending it. That's how good it is. No other fan and their "cutting edge" technology still come even close to the performance and build of the GT-15 after so long :)

Yes! Totally agreed! GT came from no where and destroy the competition in the noise and speed, and it just looks so plain, without the sleeving and pwm and silencing pads.

But the GT build is also so strong that i cut my fingers a few times and the blades and hub still spinning quietly.

King of “MOST AIR THROUGH THE RADIATOR”

That would be a tie between the Gentle Typhoon AP-45 (2150) and the Noiseblocker E-loop B12-4 (2400RPM) model. I measure roughly 72hz(2160RPM) from the GT and about 77hz(2310RPM) coming from the NB. So despite the RPM advantage the GT is still producing the same air flow through the radiator which is a tribute to it’s very pronounced and curved PQ curve.

King of “BEST NOISE LEVEL/AIR FLOW THROUGH A RADIATOR”

The Gentle Typhoons retain their crown on this criteria and really shine at very high speeds, but that differentiation does drop off as speed decrease.
The Noiseblockers e-loops also have an interesting noise quality and perform really well at speeds below about 1500RPM. At the 400FPM and 500FPM performance levels by ear I have a hard time telling the difference between the GTs and the Noiseblocker B12-3. The smoother noise quality of the Noiseblocker almost seems to make up the different in noise level. The Corsair SP120 also does fairly well on noise level and consistently so throughout it’s speed range, it’s just not as smooth in noise quality as the NBs are at slower speeds, but it does hold it’s up at higher speeds. None are even close to the GTs at really high speeds though where the GTs have upwards of a 10dbA noise level advantage.

Overall. I was a bit surprised by the Noiseblocker e-loop B12-3 at the mid speed range, very good noise quality makes them competitive with the GTs. The cougar fans seem to do well at very slow speeds, but they are a bit limited in higher speeds and didn’t do as well as I hope based on forum comments. The Noctua NF-F12s do well at very slow speeds, but very poor at the higher speed relative to the forum comments. I don’t understand why they are so often so highly recommended except I know of a few reviews done out there without proper tools that are likely spreading bad information as usual. The corsair SP120 fan also surprised me a bit. It did seem to do a little better in noise quality than the H100i fans, but it’s not as strong a performer in noise level as many forum recommendations seem to convey.

Yes :s13:

Made by a company that no one ever hear of, except that they specialise in industrial fans :s13:

Especially the earlier versions, some of them don't even ship with the 3 pin connector, just bare wires. Have to crimp them myself :s13:

The ap-45 is also a good choice for higher sp than the ap-15 and yet still retaining the low noise?

No the ap45 is of a different design. The noise signature is different and more irritating.

hehe i went with the sp120 performance edition

and af 120 quiet edition from cosair.

My issue ends up more from the gfx card fans when full load then it ends up noisy.
