Sorry I mean can one of us go and apply for both? Thx.

You should be able to. Afterall, that's what the travel agency does on your behalf right? But you really should just give the Myanmar embassy a call and settle your doubts once and for all. It only takes 5 mins.

Went to Myanmar again a few weeks ago, this time to the remote ancient Buddhist ruins of Mrauk U. It's quite hard to get to but if you have a few extra days to spare in Myanmar, I would recommend coming here.

Going to yangon for 4 days. Any itinerary to suggest? Which area/place is convenient to stay?

I spent a full day in Yangon and the only one place I would unreservedly recommend is Shewdagon Pagoda, which is best visited during day and night. Since I was on a escorted tour, I didn't take the Circular train, which by all accounts is an experience. Just walking around the city area looking at the street hawkers, old colonial buildings, streetside bookshops and people is very enjoyable too.

I would think four days is probably too much. If you can, book an early flight out to Bagan about half an hour away. It's a whole different world there and the plains of Bagan with hundreds of pagodas is one of the best sights I have ever seen.

Have to bring USD there or pay in their currency? By the way you have any recommendations for where to stay in Bagan & Yangon?

Yes need to bring USD and change to their currency at the airport. Bills need to be free of creases and tear or they may be rejected. For hotels best to check with your local agent. When i went two years ago, there were not enough good hotels in Yangon, so you get poor value for relatively old hotels. But many new hotels were being built since. Bagan i stayed at Thazin Garden which was ok.

bring SGD to change at the airport can alr....they are more strict to USD, they only accept USD notes in 90% new condition, which is a nightmare.

Suggestion :

Bring SGD, change at yangon airport to kyat, probably bring some USD for spare use.

Change the left over kyat to SGD in yangon airport before you left.

For Kyat, better change using SGD so that no need to change lots of USD, rate is also good. You will still need USD to pay for some tours, hotels, transport, etc...
