Try positioning it according to the fan position, for mine i placed it nearer to the front. Should be able to reduce the temp more! lol!

Is there 1Gbps profile for Viewqwest? I am only getting 600Mbps using AC87 via wired connection from one of the 4/LAN ports
Go to LAN, switch control. Choose NAT acceleration to auto / CTF+FA. Then disable spanning tree. After that try speed test again.

I have a similar problem. I am on singtel unlimited fibre plan and the highest speed test is only 586.38 Mb/s down and 859.83 up. So the upload speed is normal as per singtel contractual "typical speed". The problem is that I can never reach any higher on my download speed.

I have tried testing with "NAT acceleration" disable and auto, "Spanning-Tree Protocol" disable and enable.
I have also tried both latest merlin 378.51 and official asus firmware 4376.
I have tried both disabling and enabling all the AiProtection.
Smart QoS is off.
Removed all other LAN and WiFi connections.

All with no difference in my download speed.

But my router CPU is 85 degrees, not sure if its a factor.

Does anybody have this problem?

Well I must admit that changing the network renewal key time to a much longer period seems to have fixed the periodic dropouts at 5GHz

this is my singtel unlimited fibre speed..

you might want to test it with direct ONT, in order to see if there problem is with the router or with the network..

i would strongly recommend u to try the new 378.51_newqtn firmware form merlin, since u r already on his firmware.

if not, the beta 4608 firmware released by asus@sg is also recommended..

Mine is vice versa, DL: 800+ UP: 500-600 ;(

Edit: Called up singtel to check and they asked me to do a speed test via their singtel tech support website, both the download and upload speed are 900+ but when I perform the speed test via speedtest.net i can only get 500-600 upload speed. Singtel tech guy try to smoke me by saying speedtest.net doesnt support/not compatible with high speed test.:mad::mad:

PS: I have tested using stock firmware and merlin firmware, direct ONT and router with cat6 cables.
