Dont get Aeron, it is an old design with poor lumpar support! :D
Want HM, look at Embody, much more comfortable.
Or cheaper the Sayl, much better back support, but it is cushion seat, a thick one at least, But it may get hot without aircon and sweaty dirty if not maintained. UOB use Sayl. HM can pay installment free using CC. :D

Dont get Ikea Markus, the leather will spoil by 2 years in our climate. And it has a high tall back.

Tiagong the Harwoth Zody is quite value for money here. But OP didnt like it.. :(

Using zody in office Liao. Back aches everywhere lol.

I bought a similar chair to the IKEA MARKUS, but from vhive

after 1 year+, the back mesh will start to sag since there is no physical support.

just FYI, and hope your chair can last longer than mine

My fabric one use for 4 years. A little dirty. The rest ok.

My PVC one use for 3 years. All OK except for the head rest area which is peeling off.

For $299, it's really cheap and good. But you have to try if it fits you. I will replace it once spoilt since it's only $299 instead of $1800.

any updates?

If you have the budget go for Okamura Contessa.
The Contessa definitely feels much better than the Ergohuman and HM.

[1] Contessa vs Ergo - do note the front portion of the seat is mesh over a sponge like material, if you desire a 100% breathing material then you can skip it. However the Ergohuman provides solid tilt, lumbar and neck support only at the price of 600 bucks.

[2] Contessa vs HM Aeron - both of the mesh are similar, but for Aeron, neck / head rest have to be purchased separately and the price is more expensive. Contessa and Aeron have this enveloping chair design that makes sitting very comfortable - A fully configured Contessa costs 1500 while a bare Aeron in the market is already 1.7k.

End of the day it depends on how much you wanna spend and what is your budget. I personally gotten the Ergo for now, and comtemplating if I should buy a Contessa lol.

Not worth it. I saw the specs and believe it's basic model. Not fully loaded model. I'm also looking at HM now. Xtra got some discount this month but not as good offer as the one last year. Lol

Can try the MO at HWZ. Got the Aeron from there a year ago, fully loaded with posture fit support, neck rest and hard castors for 1.7k inclusive of delivery. Embody feels good too.

Wassup with the old/new design. Your spine have new design?
The Aeron was jointly designed by orthopedics and still highly recommended by specialists around the world.

I can confirm that as I've multiple slipped discs, owned Steelcase's thinkchair, Aeron then Embody. Both orthos i went to recommended only Herman Miller's Aeron or Embody and indeed it lift all my pain off.
I also tried most of the other ergonomic chairs in the market but most can make my pain come back.
So i'm not sure how you deduce it has poor lumbar support.

Sayls are made in China, the back support cmi.

Huh? Still need to pay $214 for local warranty per call??
Xtra SG,the local distro, only provide one year labor warranty, after that is need to pay $200 +7% gst per call.
To be honest , I think very hard to have a major failure in first few years so the 1 year labor warranty is redundant.

The mass order guy, which been ongoing for many years, now under www.unwantedimports.com , offer zero labor warranty but have their own techs who charge cheaper for the full 12 years.

Both have full 12 years parts warranty except against wear and tear.

Actually there's no value for buying from the local distributor.
Heard the ones selling by the local distributor are made in China while those ordered from USA like in the mass order are made in USA.
