can ask if you are attending any posture therapy? can recommend?

It won't help much.
They will tell you your posture wrong, tell you to strengthen the selected muscles but you will get back to the wrong posture very soon.

Until one day the ortho was kind enough to tell me get a good chair. Because the chair will simply force you to sit correctly rather than you try to remember correcting yourself.
To be frank, you will also forget which posture at what angle the therapist told you to maintain.
If you sit in a good posture for hours, even when you stand up, the muscles will remember and keep it that way.
Herman miller sell hospital range of furniture and are well recognised. It really works the most for me.

During my worst time with the slip disc. I can't even change from stand to sit or lay down position. The pain was so sharp, tear will ownself flow out. I could only stare at my bed for ten minutes don't dare to get down. Later I figured I have to fall down on the bed like a timber without bending the body to minimize the pain.

Later, it's a Thai massage lady who advised me to do the opposite of what the doctors said and it helps me the most. Now I can play sports with 95 pct of the pain eliminated.
But if I sit on a lousy chair again. Thr pain will come back immediately.

According to the physio, he told me that people after their 30s will have a higher chance of slip disc. Long time with bad sitting posture will slowly push the disc out,and any big action in the wrong posture can turn the condition very bad easily.

Sounds about right, maybe that's why i develop a "nerd" head. with head posture infront. Causing insane shoulder blade stress..and they could only tell me to stregthen my neck muscle not helping at all.

Sometimes it's so pain that i have to lie down on the floor to control my pain. Wondering if the chair over at the MO area is capable of correcting it. I certainly can't afford more than 300 for a chair.

If I'm not wrong your muscles are like stones fix in that position already. Same as me. How to strengthen and push back by simply strengthen and harden other parts.

I personally tink the stiff points must be massaged and release the muscles first before talking about adjusting back.

I remember from the Thai lady, for neck, don't anyhow crack yourself.
Heard there's a tiny disc that can come out easily and it's also a lifetime suffering.

All I can advise is fix it early than wait for it to deteriorate.

Once you kana slipped disc, it's permanent and no money can recover you back fully. Even doctors don't recommend using surgery to correct it, as they won't have complete confidence that it will work.

You will live with the pain forever, it's a part of you and when you move, you move slowly with a lot of restriction. Just like an ah pek.
Your dexterity minus 30%, no more nimble and quick movements.

Example, last time i climb stairs could one shot jump 3 steps with a fast momentum.
Now, at the most is two steps at regular pace.
Open my legs wider and my thigh underneath will hurt.
It hurts because the protruding herniated disc press onto the nerve.
Worse is, the disc is always at a standby position to worsen further.

When i first had it, i thought it's muscle tear at my left thigh.
Some people have back aches, some people have other stuffs.
It's better to let the doc examine, i went to Poly then refer to SGH.

When i was there, they said it's more likely to be slipped disc.
They did some checks by asking you to do some actions.
Need to do mri to see clearly, MRI costed me i think $200+ but even if see clearly also no use.
The specialist took two glance then just reconfirm it's slipped disc and that's all.

They gave me some pain killers, which i did not want to eat much.
Helped with the pain though, but it's bad stuffs.

Referred to some physio which i think it's waste of time and $.
Ttl spent about $600+ for nothing except confirmation that it's slipped disc.

I can intro one very old school very famous chinese tie da.
Heard they are better in this. I think your condition fits their speciality better. I believe you should visit them first.
The old master retired liao though, and they are pretty attitude and heard is really pain.
But alot of close ones vouched they work, not sure about slipped disc conditions because it seem impossible to adjust back. But they should be able to ease the pain a lot, just like the Thai lady did for me.

I didn't go yet because they said it's really damn pain.
Good news is they are still in service after decades of service, meaning no death or nobody handicapped yet.

Since you are in NS, you should spam and go for MRI check.
It's covered by NS.
Go kpkb to them again, or go to another poly refer to another hosp.
Tell them your concerns that you want it really investigated while it's sponsored by NS. If really got problem, at the same time you can get a downgrade.
It's kill two birds with one stone.
Not to mention all those MA time off.

MRI can cost over thousand easily. Why will you want to pay after you are out of service.

Xray can't see the disc.
It's totally useless.
Ultrasound not much help too.

MRI is the clearest.
Just keep telling them that you want to know clearly and investigate further.
The doctors won't stop you cause they will just refer to a pinoy radiologist to do the scanning.

My budget less than 100 can buy what chair?
:(
Actually best is don't sit, no joking.
Sitting is a bad activity.

So if you need to sit for long, better to get a good chair to overcome the damage.

Check out Duorest ... they have a showroom at Marina Square.

I bought mine at $700 by interest free installment many years ago.

Anymore views on other chair? I'm
Going down to try either ergohuman or IOO.

I've been using the Benel Q-Mesh chair for around 2 years and its quite comfortable. The build is also quite sturdy and I have not had any issues with it so far.

I tried don't know ergo or duorest, and my slipped disc hurt like ****.

Many years back i did a little research.
I saw the model at alibaba, I think it's actually a rebadged made in China OEM model. I remember there's not much ergonomic evidence.
Is some AMDK doctor claiming to be a back specialist, selling the product.

BTW i also had the Steelcase think chair, also crap.
Mesh crap, support crap. The base is plastic, the gas cylinder seem to be pushing through and was almost touching the floor, and would scratch it.
And it cost as much as a Herman Miller for don't know what reason.

Herman Miller not all model can buy, the Sayl chair is also plastic base, and are made in China. The backsupport is also crap.
Aeron and Embody use heavy cast aluminium for base, very sturdy one. The mesh on the aeron hold its strength very well.

A lot of "ergonomic" chairs are made in mass in China, then businessmen buy over and add their own label. There are no ergonomic research in the design. There are also a lot of cases of china office chairs' gas cylinder exploding.
