IE11 safe for use?

Is IE11 still safe enough for Internet browsing today in 2017? It is still actively patched and maintained by Microsoft.

Is it common to be hijacked or get malware when using it under real world condition?

I pick Firefox/Chrome. They are faster.

IE 11 is slow like hell. If you're on Windows 10, use Edge - it's very fast. Next would be Opera. Chrome & Firefox are ok on Windows 7 & 8 but on Windows 10, they aren't really fast.

Now Edge also has App blocker extension and you can get it for free at windows store. Very good but must update 3rd party blockers manually.
