Hi folks, lets share how you protect yourselves from ransomware :)

I avoid opening emails and clicking on suspicious links. Also have CryptoPrevent installed on my computer.

Create 2 accounts
1. Limited user account w/o password
2. Admin account with password

Always use the limited account to login to computer
If anything wants to run as administrator, you will know it is fishy.

Always have a NAS, keep a 2nd copy on the NAS.
Make sure NAS is running on Raid 1 with auto rebuild turn on.
When 1 hdd failed replace it and automatically data is rebuild on the 2nd hdd.

Can this software work together with other secuity suite? Actually Bitdefender and Kaspersky can protect against Ransomware too.

I'm using Avast + Malwarebytes. No conflict at all with Ransomfree.

Re

There are many security software that can be used to stop ransomware

However, for dedicated anti-ransomware software you can use

1) AppCheck Pro
2) Temasoft Ranstop
3) Heilig Defense RansomOff - free but still in beta

I don't use Windows, so my computers are invulnerable to all these ransomware scares.
