Hi, I just bought a custom built PC and installed Kaspersky to scan for virus before using it any further and this virus was found. is it a malicious virus ? i've googled and some said it is and some said it isn't.

Think your copy of Windows (or some other software like Office) is not legit

There are a number of threads on Malwarebytes on the removal of R@1n-KMS

KMS-R@1n.exe program (key management service) is an illegal key activator

KMS-R@1n.exe is a running process which is used to manipulate your KMS service every 180 days to make it believe that you are running the legitimate version of windows and not pirated one.
