Guys, ask you all ah.. If I place order, the delivery date is 5 jan 2021. Will it be exact date delivery or will it change earlier , later according to their stocks?

For me, mine was initially 10-17 Dec, then changed to 8-15 Dec and ultimately delivered on 7 Dec.

These are just estimated dates and sometimes they do deliver earlier.

u should since it is not upgradeable diy. i got 16gb on my m1 mini. macos will use up almost all the available memory:

on my 32gb 2018 mini, i have around 15gb unused most of the time, for comparison sake.

I also recommend 16GB and I myself use for an average of 5 years. I presume your entertainment is something like Netflix, Apple TV+, stuffs like this?

16GB for better future-proofing and some apps do consume more RAM when used.

This is istatistica? Cannot find cpu temperature in the app or hidden somewhere? I have the 8gb model. Normal daily stuff netflix chrome safari, etc without video and pic processing, I find it enough. Firefox bugged out sometimes could be because of the code optimization. Memory wise ya uses quite a big chunk but I do not find any performance drop. Just cant justify the $300 extra for 8 GB where any crucial ram cost only $50 max from shopee :/ LOL

i agree with u.. cannot justify 300 for 8gb additional. 8gb is sufficient. even so if wan to upg ram do it on the m2-m3 processor. m1 will be the weakest of the silicons in years to come. currently facing ports issues on my mac mini. somehow i knew sure will have issues as this is 1 gen.

yes it is. there is a temperature gauge, but no graphs:

However, u cannot compare with diy ram, cos' there is no way to diy with the M1!

My 2018 mini was 8gb. initially it was enough, but as time goes by, it starts to feel sluggish. finally this year i diy to 32gb for less than $200, and it feels snappy again. this is my main pc for many important things like stocks tradings, so cannot afford it to slow me down.

Thanks both! 16gb it is... I agree with both of your pov. Now not upgradable anymore. Must as well get the higher ram...

How about MBP vs MBA? I see the difference is only 1 got touch bar and fan (which means better sustained performance)

as u mentioned, do u need sustained performance? if not then mba is good enough, even for 4k60 video editing. understand from utubers that the touchbar is not useful. but i did a price compare before, if upgrade the ram to 16gb, the difference between both is like $50 only, if so then mbp seems a better deal.

for me, it is better to get the higher specs if one intends to keep it for many years until it breaks down. newer OS and apps tend to get heavier and more resource-intensive.
