Apple watch face detached from body

My son’s series 1 watch face detached from the body. Watch still in perfect working order.
Warranty long over but will Apple shop replace it? Seems to be battery bloated issue. Never dropped and always in spigen case.

Spoke to online support. Will bring to Apple store. The battery certainly looked bloated.

If they change to series 3, can topup for series4?

ya will.. think they will change to series 3 for you since they no longer sell series 1
Actually they will still replace it with the Series 1. I believe that they still do have leftover refurbished and brand new ones left.

I’ve replaced my iPod touch 5th Gen recently (2-3 months ago only) due to a bloated battery, and though it hasn’t been selling for many years already, they replaced it with the 5th Gen, but not the 6th Gen.

EDIT: These could be the out of warranty repair costs:

Apple is going to replace it foc for me.
Apparently there’s a part fault replacement scheme. Battery bloat is one of the issues that’s covered within 3 years of purchase.
But they need to send to repair centre to confirm the case. Then will inform me to collect replacement watch after repair centre sends it to them. No stock on site at Apple store.
Looks like may not get a series upgrade. But it’s fine since it’s free.
