ya man ... wonder how the old bands work with bigger size ... maybe the hook area still same same size.

PetPet 12-09-2018 09:08 PM

I hope so, just a shy 2mm difference.

Snoweagle 12-09-2018 10:07 PM

The physical size will be a little larger too, but was said to be thinner than Series 3.

The LTE version will be available on Singtel only.

jeffprobst 13-09-2018 06:48 AM

Wanted to buy iwatch but what's the different for aluminium and stainless steel sial

seems like since I'm on m1 network, there's not a need for me to get the cellular version

just check seems like my above questions not applicable of I want to get the stainless version

tokyofanboi 13-09-2018 07:13 AM

Alu will corrode and dent easily compare to steel

Snoweagle 13-09-2018 07:22 AM

Now the new Series 4 SS are even more expensive, dunno whether want to upgrade from my Series 3 LTE SS.

ngsoonle 13-09-2018 07:29 AM

I donít know if this has happened to anyone else. I am actually allergic to aluminum. Wearing it for a period of time actually causes itchiness around the heart rate sensor area.
Changed to ss, problem solved. So itís ss for me..

jeffprobst 13-09-2018 07:34 AM

never have a iwatch before so potentially hooting this series 4

runningman.snsd 13-09-2018 07:51 AM

The price up so much

$799 for 44mm cellular

So old straps can use on series 4 mah?

Actually I am very excited about this new release. $799 compared to typical luxury watch (Rolex, Tudor etc...) is not expensive. Wearing a luxury watch is like wearing an awesome timepiece hence ppl willing to invest and pass down to next generation. I think this $799 is worth investing because it may save pplís life.

If detects irregularities during physical exercises, can prompt person to rest. Maybe future can have early detection prior to stroke etc...I think this is a product that will change our lives

Now comes the problem.... do you know how to interpret the irregularities ?

htngwilliam 13-09-2018 08:30 AM

U donít need to. The AI will prompt you.

VodkaPear 13-09-2018 08:33 AM

Ignore the rest.
Now is which colour n size shld I get?

I am a guy using stainless steel series 0 38mm.
Shld I consider 40 or 44?

Gold look nice but is it will like ah Pek?
Wat colour would u all choose?

htngwilliam 13-09-2018 08:37 AM

Strange the stainless steel donít have the non cellular version.

Vodka Pear, I would recommend the silver stainless steel. Reason is because you can polish away fine scratches. I used both before (Gen 1) but seems like stainless steel very prone to scratches but easy to polish. The others once scratch, canít do anything. I feel stainlsss steel quite prone to scratches compared to aluminum

icheb 13-09-2018 08:57 AM

They mentioned in the keynote that all your older straps are compatible with the new series 4 watch.

I am wondering those on Number Share, would i be able to transfer the Number Share from my old Apple Watch to the new one?

Singtel FAQ did not address this.

mackie8 13-09-2018 10:08 AM

no more classic buckle and apple care plus for watch is now $138 ....

Yes you can. What SingTel will do is that they will cancel your current number share and then reset for new watch. No extra charges. That's what they did for me when i had to change my the Apple Watch I had dropped with a new watch.

karenwoods 13-09-2018 10:09 AM

The new series 4 for Singapore will not do ECG. That's the only function I want in the new watch.

jeffprobst 13-09-2018 10:16 AM

Is it because Haven pass the medical requirement in SG? maybe is something that can be unlocked via software update.

Thought that feature is already built into the watch itself :s11:

Thanks for the info Karenwoods!

chinnian 13-09-2018 12:13 PM

$749 for a watch that people would likely upgrade every 2-3 years.. ouch!
(I know.. and see the "don't want can don't buy la." comments coming. lol)

ECG is not mentioned on the Singapore Apple Watch site.
As I understand it, it will be made available to US users later this year only.

I think it is probably built in but country dependent.

Maybe all the hardware already include the functionality .. but need the software app to include it. So maybe if got USA itunes account can get the app to download .. and probably won't be available to download from SG store ..

swgj86 13-09-2018 03:15 PM

ecg is one key feature of S4 lor ..

then again .. 8 complications ... also useful ..

yeah. since you always get palpitation at work, you should and you must change to s4 and do the check every day. 30 seconds only, you can afford. :D

Snoweagle 13-09-2018 03:48 PM

Yes Iíve read that the ECG requires an app which will only be available later this year and is only for US market. The cool thing on how it reads is by placing a finger on the digital crown.

In fact, the main reason Iím looking forward to the Series 4 is also the ECG feature but since only available for the US market, not sure if still want to buy.

But the larger screen and able to squeeze in 3 more complications compared to the current Modular watch face is a plus. Price wise...still quite expensive.

dipznpipz 13-09-2018 03:49 PM

its super expensive.....considering series 3 now...

but like u said, i like the bigger screen......

The screen is quite a lot larger on the 44mm than my current 42mm. Even the new 40mmís screen area is larger than mine!

LoneReaction 13-09-2018 04:16 PM

No ECG might as well stick with my series 3 GPS :(

ECG is the main feature of the new Series 4 with its new back sensors. Dunno y Apple want to limit only to US market. Even if buy the new watch here, also cannot use.

The 44mm will be just nice on my wrist and I also prefer larger watches.

Decisions, decisions....If want to buy, tomorrow must go make the order, else forget about it.

jeffprobst 13-09-2018 04:42 PM

Likely different country different compliance and testing have to be done bah

Probably, but not having full functionality kind of sucks.

The watch face increased to 42mm and 44mm because of the "bezeless" concept. The bands of 38mm and 42mm will still work on the new watches respectively.

I believe this is dependent on the approval. Just wait. I believe Singapore will follow FDA.

Jirachi 13-09-2018 05:44 PM

I see the Apple Watch in the SG Store having the same "Electrical Heart Sensor" as the US store one. I do hope this is the ECG enabled sensor.

karenwoods 13-09-2018 06:09 PM

I think I might get the series 4 lte. Currently i have the series 3 lte. Know there is most likely no need to get a new one but I love the Apple Watch. Actually I think I may love it more than the iPhone.

I think it needs the relevant authority approval to enable the ECG.

kennysme 13-09-2018 06:32 PM

For the numbershare with singtel is it better to buy thru Apple store or thru singtel? Or no diff?

They measure by the height of the watch case, not face.
AW3 38mm: 38.6mm H x 33.3mm W
AW4 40mm: 40mm H x 34mm W

Slight increase, but straps grooves unchanged.

That will need approval from our local authority. Since they have officially announced this feature, can expect things to move much faster now. I expect this to be enabled early next year for Singapore.
