Hi,

Anyone has an itinerary for self-driving from Melbourne to Adelaide and back to Melbourne again?

Planning to drive to Adelaide from Melbourne and back again in 11 days. Hoping to pass by Great Ocean road. please suggest stopovers. First stop will probably be Apollo Bay.

Personally, I would just drive to Adelaide, and dump the car there and fly out. SIA has direct flights out of Adelaide to SG.

Agree, if the difference in air tickets is <= to the car rental/petrol/accommodation/ etc, i think its worth flying out from Adelaide.

To save money can fly Scoot. Not direct flight, 15 hrs, but still beats driving 8hrs + 7 hr flight

Only thing is that SQ only has one flight a day to and fro Adelaide. May be a bit restrictive for you.

Anyway, nearby Adelaide you've got Mount Gambier, Coonawarra wineries, Kangaroo Island, Victor Harbor, Coorong National Park, Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills.
