Just finished The Silent Patient. The twist is fantastic. Completely didn't see it coming.

I'm finally done reading the book! Awesome enjoyed the 2nd book alot. The 2nd book is much better then the first. .

Did not realize this series is still ongoing. The first book came out in 2007 and 2nd book in 2011. Not sure when the third will be out .

Oh well next up the Book Thief!

Patrick Suskind - Perfume, ebook version.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2897.Perfume

Titlled, _Perfume: The Story of a *Murderer*_

Finished this. 3 stars. Start this book at your own peril of time.

Don't expect an elaborate detective, murderer type of book. Except for 2 murders the balance of them, the readers were just informed how many got killed; no details, no stalking of the victims...no excitement.

However other topics (characters, scenery, attitudes etc) in the book the writer gave lotsa details, but to boredom. Long winded, ... one sentence can go on for a page, one description of the same thing can go on like endlessly...

More literature than a book for enjoyment.

I agree with this reader's comment about the book. 😂

_But he goes overboard with list after exhaustive list of ingredients or steps within a process or varieties to be found. He can't help but describe every minute detail, not just of perfume, but of the landscape or the people. I love descriptive writing - I truly do - but I do also like to have an exciting plot to keep me involved. By the time he finished describing a scene I forgot why we were there._

The book without the long narratives could be 50% shorter.

Was looking for a book with middle Eastern character premise for a while.

Thanks.

Just started reading Malazan Book of the Fallen.

Heard that it’s a very complex book with a lot of characters and places and spanning thousands of years.

Was thinking that if I can do A Song of Ice and Fire, maybe I should give it a try. Currently at chapter 3.

Anyone reading this or have already finished it? Any reviews?
