Have to see from the other view point also mah, government give you $10k today. 10 years later, they only take back $5k.

If got no VES rebate, you have to pay $10k more today, and 10 years later, only get back $5k more.



Eg John's bank account got 85k. He buys an 85k car, with VES 10k rebate, he pays 75k. Got 10k sitting in the bank for other stuff. 10 years later, he gets back 5k. Bank balance at the end is 15k.

If no rebate, he pays 85k for the car. 10 years later, he gets back 10k. Bank balance at the end is 10k. Ultimately, lugi 5k.

VES rebate is good for those on budget and want to renew their COE later.

Dun have 1.3 Hybrid. So far, even for their 2020 Hybrid, Honda still using 1.5L. Last time got speculation maybe they will reduce engine capacity for the new generation, including reducing to 3 cyc 1.0 Turbo for petrol Fit. But looks like they didn't do that.

What Oceanicmanta means is got 2 class of Honda Fit (and Jazz) that qualify for the A2 VES rebate for 10k -
1) 1.3L Petrol Fit (and 1.3L Petrol Jazz)
2) 1.5L Hybrid Fit


1.5L petrol Jazz doesn't qualify for any VES rebate. Iirc, just missed qualification by a bit only.

1.5L petrol Fit no PI bring in, but since it's basically same as Jazz, it probably won't qualify either even if PI bring in.

VES rebate doh really work for 1.3 Jazz.
is basically you put upfront get it or get it later...

Thanks right. Don't just see the purchase price. That affect scrap value and indirectly also 2nd hand value.
Factor these in and you may find a full size car is a better value.
