Just try to park with the others.
Do not isolate and park in 1 dark corner.

If the price difference between a shuttle and a fit is 10k, should i go for the shuttle? Afterall, its 1.5 vs 1.3 and bigger boot space.

Yes. The boot space is a cheap luxury!

For rest area, go for populated ones. Anyway, just be vigilant at all times. :D

zoneware7 11-12-2018 11:51 AM

jus to check, anyone know for Fit 1.3, is the steering wheel not adjustable?
Also for the front seat height, is it adjustable?
(as i know for Jazz is yes for both)

Just buy what you need. 1.3 litre is okay as a small family car.

Fit is cheaper to maintain (fuel, tax and cleaning) and easier to drive (lighter and shorter) .

Shuttle if you need the boot space and higher horsepower.

Recommend to use the $10k for a rainy day or invest in blue chips in SGX, given the volatility in economy now.

Price is your main concern? Then get what is within your budget.... Do you need a bigger boot space?

Hi , for honda fit ge6 , using 0w-20 engine oil is it feasible?

Solidus_GZ 14-12-2018 05:09 PM

Last time i drive FD1, good car, but the car like very thin, outside sound very loud.
wonder if now the version willl have the same issue?

KM offering Jazz 1.3 LX @ 68,999 and Non LX @ 66,999.

LX giving full accessory like:
Solar film
Floor mats
1 channel DVR recorder
Reverse camera
Reverse sensor
Leather Seat

the non LX version is w/o.
is it worth to save the 2 k to go for non LX version?

myviowner 14-12-2018 06:48 PM

Not worth to save that 2k, leather seat for easy maintenance. reverse cam and sensor are very useful for our daily driving.

You confirm the differences are only in the accessories and leather seats? Last time GE Fit still got differences e.g. the absolute lowest base model has side markers on the fenders instead of indicators on the side mirrors for 1 grade higher onwards.

If confirm they're actually the same car just the differences in these accessories and leather seats, try to nego for the non price but throw in leather seats. All their accessories are not factory fitted anyway, don't give sua.

Cheaper to DIY at outside workshop at around $1k above. The only catch is the hassle but you can select the quality you like.

but there is long waiting period before you can collect your new car.
i waited mine for 2.5mths. i know someone signed before car @expo event and to collect in end Mar2019.

why standard features and accessories all mixed together? :s13:
this vary depends on what do you wish VS need?

based on the above, below is my feedback BUT you need to verify with SE before signing.

Solar film (standard)
Floor mats (accessories)
1 channel DVR recorder (accessories, why not 2ch? 1ch is for front or back har?)
Reverse camera (standard)
Reverse sensor (standard)
Leather Seat (accessories)

there are still many more on standard and accessories for Honda Jazz. go spend time to look thru and do some research. :s12:

any advice for a first time car buyer?

if you keen on Honda Jazz, then below is my feedback
1) if you are on 60% highway & 40% city, then go for Jazz RS.
(subject to traffic condition & after 3weeks drive - best record is 19.2km/l and worst is 13.5km/l)
2) if you are are city driver, then go for Jazz 1.3 or LX
3) else too much money to burn, then choose which one you like - Jazz 1.3, LX or RS

if budget is a concern, then ensure the following must have or done at KM. this is based on non LX version.
solar film (std), 2Ch dash cam (accessories), reverse camera (std), reverse sensor (std), leather seat (accessories) & what ever you can negotiate out from the deal before signing (including servicing and warranty package).
the rest can be bought from elsewhere.

depends on your negotiation skill.
1) to install leather seat could be $800 (added to your car value) or free
2) to install 2ch dash cam (to avoid implication on warranty) for free (very unlikely) or additional cost to the purchase price (tag to staff price?)

agreed. look around see which brand/SE offer the best deal :s12:
only after meeting KM 3rd SE (recommended by SA), then I sign the deal.
in btw, I also check out Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai.

Solidus_GZ 17-12-2018 10:27 AM

Actually im comparing the car scrap value between Fit and Jazz to determine the depreciation cost.

Jazz car value 68,999
Ves- 10k - which they claim they done the rebate for you.
OMV - 15K
Scrap Value - 2.5k as claim by Sales that they take out the Ves rebate of 10K

Honda Fit - 60,999 as claim by some PI?
Claim 17K OMV? so scrap value should be 50% of OMV? 8k???

how come so much different?

OMV depends and will be accurate when collecting your car.
Jazz1.3 after scrap is abt $2.5k (VES A band), that depends whether you want to buy anot? :s13:

- what is claim by some PI? have you personally go see for yourself? FIT simi model? simi CC? is it VES B band? or VES A band?
- scrap value is about 50% OMV (thats for easy explanation) - $8.5k based on OMV 17k la..

no la im comparing the depreciation value for both Fit and Jazz, how come Jazz they indicate there is VES rebate in their chart, for Fit the Ad did not put VES Rebate

Fit - buying price - 60,999 - Deprecation value claim is 5,737 per year -wonder how they come out with this figure.

Jazz - buying price 66,999 - Depreciation value is 6,500 per year after take the car value - scrap value @ $2,500

anyway Jazz seem to be bigger with paddle shift, and cruise control
maybe this weekend go check out the PI to see how.
some deal like too good to be truth.
like interest rate 1.98 compare to AD 2.18%
60.8k compare to AD 67K
6 bid confirmed COE? compare to AD Confirmed COE

is either in-house loan or DBS loan. can also check with AD whether DBS loan is still available at 1.98%.
the last i know most banks are moving to 2.28% already.

it could be a car with just body and engine. thats what i saw when i visited a PI at turf city a few years ago.
the rest of the items are on a-la-carte menu. :s13:

AD will like to lock down asap & PI will like to get more $$ from your signed deal (the cheaper COE is, the better for PI).

If the fit does not qualify for the rebate and with omv 17k. I don't think it will sell it at 60k with coe included by PI. The cost price plus the coe already hit more than 60k liao.

Kah motor 1.5 jazz rs omv also 17k with no ves rebate. Selling price is more than 80k.

15" or 16" :s13:
like that then can recommend la..

I recommend using Sandisk microsd cards. No issues with my dashcam so far (2 years and running), i got it off lazada.

Ironically, if you go through the cam threads, you will find that most people with card problems were on Sandisk, and their problems went away after they switched to other brands.

iCubes 19-12-2018 02:59 PM

The guy who installed my dash cam told me to avoid Samsung so I went to the next big brand Sandisk. Oh well.
