Sent from Samsung SM-G965F using GAGT

The main stat for battery packs is the Milliamp-Hours (mAh) rating.
Every 200 mAh can power a 2-ch dash cam for 1 hour.

Popular mAh ratings and average duration for 2-ch dash cam:
3,300 mAh = 17 hrs
5,000 mAh = 25 hrs
6,000 mAh = 30 hrs
6,600 mAh = 33 hrs
10,000 mAh = 50 hrs
13,600 mAh = 68 hrs

For 1-ch dash cam, increase duration by 50%.

Popular battery brands are Carecell, Cellink, iRoad and Mightycell.
Each brand also have different models, high end models have higher mAh rating. So Carecell CW330 means 3,300 mAh. same as Mightycell EN3300.

Carecell most expensive, but quality looks really cheap. Aluminum casing, but the battery display indicator is basically 1 led lightbulb to show it's full, and another to show if it's charging. Doesn't show how much charge left. I rejected.

iRoad is cheapest. But use plastic casing, cutoff temp is 50C. Others all aluminum casing with heat sinks and have cutoff temp of 80C. I also rejected.

MightlyCell, most value for money. Solid aluminum casing with grooves to vent heat. Built-in digital display that shows the charge level.

Celllink newest product is the NEO. Only 6,000 mAh model available. Nothing less than that. But if you need more, this one can daisy chain their Neo Ext. Doubles the power storage. Smartphone display.

is it daisy chain? battery to another battery pack, then connect to dash cam?
or independent power setup? battery for car & dash cam, battery pack for dash cam?

1 battery pack daisy chain to another battery pack. Their video shows can daisy chain 1 main control unit, plus 2 more battery pack extension. Not sure if that's the limit.

this one sure fake one. no lights on it.

Have 1 blue LED light, but won't blink when it detects motion.

thanks for the explanation. finally get it.

power source from car main battery connects to battery pack, then to dash cam.
when engine is off, dash cam draws power from battery pack only.
only when engine is started, battery pack charge up the power from car main battery.

where do you place the battery pack? beside the driver seat? or at the car boot, with the hybrid engine?

Normally they recommend below driver seat. Prevents accidental kicking. Near fuse box, so cabling much simpler, and no need to drill, just velcro.

All very flat devices, can fit below the seats even though our gas tank is there also.

More hard core, can drill and get custom brackets to mount at the side of footwell.
