Private Car Sale - Loan Questions

Hi guys,

i like to check if i would like to purchase a used car from a private seller.
Which bank should i go ask for a car loan?

I know UOB, MayBank and OCBC all ask me go thru dealer. all wanna earn sibei jialat. bloodsuckers

POSB I send in application, pending reply

What other banks should i go to?

any recommendation?

Why not get a dealer to deal with the loan applications ? at least u dont have to worry, like for e.g transfer or ownership and loan...

Btw, u do know the cons of getting direct from seller right ?

Banks willl not take your loan as it is unsecured loan . They required u go thru dealer . Those u saw online is high interest type . Recommend u pay in cash

dealing with seller no doubt gets u cheaper depre etc....

but there is no warranty/Lemon law to cover engine and gearbox. So have to make sure the car is in good condition if not will be sold AS IS basis

ill rather have someone liable for these issues rather than have noone to turn to when it happens. but then again, depends on what car you are looking at.

Isnt the car collecteral? Abeit it depreciates like nobody business.

Get a car dealer that do loan for you... admin fee about 400$. They help you transfer the car over to ur name and settle loan. Give ppl chance earn abit la..

I think LTA car ownership transfer can be done online already. No need to ask dealer to do. It should be immediate.

But then I guess there are many factors also need to consider such as car being transferred also must not under any financial loan.
