Question Should I Stage 1 Tune my car?

*Edit*
My Car is Golf MK 7.5, 1.4cc, 2019.

Quite a number of question regarding this, read up about this a lil online, dunno simi piggyback or flash, seems like piggyback is the way to go if idw to void warranty.

Is the increase of 15-20HP significant enough for me to feel the difference?

Whats the general price range of stage 1 Tune?

Pros and Cons? Fuel efficiency(got such thing?)

Anyone who done stage 1 tune before? Regret or Satisfied with the improved performance?

Any advice would be great! Thank you in advance!

Not sure if the infamous dsg issue had been fixed. Good luck to the gearbox so better don't void the warranty.

Normally before stage 1 tune.

Change exhaust.air intake. Gfb DV+.
Then go stage 1 tune.
Current bar should be 0.5-0.7.
Boost to 1 bar max.
Probably can gain u around 30-40bhp.

Tuning should cost u around $700-$1000.

FC don't expect to be good as it is a performance car. But it won't be worst.

Once u get the boost. U won't regret.

It seriously good enough to drive in SG already.

700 to 1k to tune? What car is yours?

TS, u can tell tuner what u want or expect in layman terms.

DQ200 rated to 250nm torque.
They already replaced the oil with low sulfur oil which apparently was causing short circuiting in the circuits.

the 1.4 tsi (148hp with 250nm) variant is already running 1.2 bar boost. so this is the safe mod limit based on OEM tuning.

no one will regret stage 1 tune cause it is the best bang for buck. Actual power gains (feel and actual test) versus $$$.

piggyback is not the best. Best is to flash the ecu. piggyback is an interrupter / manipulator between engine and ecu. Won't be as smooth as flash tune where it is a re-write of the software.

Ya normally shop tuning is roughly around that price. If can find cheaper then better.

Yes if u not intend to change any set up and just tune. U can either tune for performance or better FC as the current set up.

Used to drive mk5 1.4 GT. Stage 3.

How is tuning different from switching to ďsportsĒ mode? Since itís a software thing. Iím obviously a noob at this so please donít laugh at me. Haha.

sports mode doesn't increase the boost (aka actual power) - only gearbox change logic (likely change gear at higher revs and hold the gears longer only). some cars also change suspension and steering feedback feel.

only some high end cars when set to sports mode give you more power but 99% of cars don't.

Sports mode gives you more instant power
Normal/Eco mode is more retarded to acceleration input
Difference should be pretty obvious for dual clutch at low end

So as a general rule, tuning will apply to both normal and sports mode?

Want to tune better go reliable tuners. Donít later tune Liao ECU up Lorry.

Tune stage 1 liao then add all this to feel stage 1 at least 150-160 BHP if your is 120bhp.
DV+ diverter
Aftermarket air filter
Add pedal box for faster response to acc pedal.
The pickup from low to mid will improve. But donít expect much high end.

Tuning is to make the output graph as linear as possible but there is this compression point at the high end which will cut off high end.

Stage 1 is good enough, anything above that can buy better performance car
