There has been changes to the tourist buses available at Xi'an Railway Station. Some services have been withdrawn, eg those to Qianling and Huashan. Alternative routes are available. For instance, to get to Huashan, take the train, which is quicker anyway.

Oh, that's a pity. I recall the bus and guide was quite affordable and lunch was also included. What are the other alternatives to get to Qianling now?

Private tour operators much like the one you experienced can probably still be found. What were withdrawn are the services provided by the city tourism agency. Now they recommend this method:

The guide was literally just another passenger on the bus and claimed on the journey that he was a tourism student and needed to clock a certain number of hours to graduate. We were free to go it alone or engage his services. Didn't seem like he was under a private tour agency.
