anybody know how to use the wallet funds?
i got 6.60 inside (rebate during the 12 months sub).. but i can't seem to purchase driveclub bikes with the wallet funds.
You can't buy because Driveclub Bikes is S$7, you don't have enough money in your wallet. You need to add a payment method (credit/debit card, SG paypal account) to your account to top up the $0.40 difference. However the lowest amount PSN charges is $10. So even though you are short by $0.40, they will charge $10 to your payment method, then leave you with wallet balance of $9.60.

How many of you guys maintain 2 PS+ subscription? Seems like US have better free games but Asia games are generally cheaper.
"Asia games are generally cheaper" is absolutely the opposite of what's the actual case. Once in a blue moon Asia psn may have a tiny number of titles on sale that's cheaper. Whereas US has sale every single week and the prices beat the crap out of Asia psn.

There is one exception though, for Sony's own games, on Day 1, the price tend to be cheaper than US.

So like 0.01% of the time Asia is cheaper, the rest of the time US wins hands down (that is assuming you can even find the same game on Asia psn... 50% of the items on US psn are not available on Asia psn). (All percentages are guesstimates :D)

Any working USB cable will do, so long as it has the same connectors at both ends (micro usb to standard usb). Preferably the cable is not just a charging cable (doesn't carry data signal, only carries the electricity) but a charging+data one.

You also don't need to use the ps4 or specialised controller charger to charge it. Can use any usb charger like those for mobile phone. I am not sure how much power the controller draws but nowadays phones are 2.1A and those 2.1A chargers will work (the old old 0.5A types probably won't, I didn't test on 1A type).

oh ok, I thought must buy back from Sony...:s34: thought the charging cable perhaps also got data signal

so can go buy third party one.

The Sony cable should have data signal. But if you buy cable from mobile phone shop, sometimes it's charging only, cant really tell the difference visually. (I dont why charging-only cables even exist, cos once in a while you probably want to connect phone to computer to transfer data anyway.)

The older type of PS4 controller does not transfer data over USB cable. The cable is for charging only, data signal is wireless via bluetooth. The new type of PS4 controller (comes with ps4 slim and pro, has a thin light bar on the touch pad) does carry data over the usb cable if connected.

I think the PS4 USB Charging cable don't have data transfer perhaps ?

the connection between the controller is wireless to the console..perhaps just charging cable.:s11:

let say you connect and. use the controller to turn on the console tactically it is the controller wireless turn it on not from the USB cable?

perhaps I wrong :s34: I just curious how it works

PS4 new user

your monitor is what resolution?

Make sure you have the correct resolution setting in the ps4:
[Settings] > [Sound and Screen] > [Video Output Settings] > [Resolution]

If your monitor is diff reso, check the monitor's menu, see whether it has options like 1:1, stretch, aspect ratio etc.

Hello ... I am a new PS4 user.
May i ask a question ... what is the recommend TV size for the PS4?
Thanks a lot!

Ya I was told this by the sales person at the shop as well. Telling me that I cannot spoil the cable. Cannot get from outside shops. Was quite curious since it looks like normal micro USB. Technically if we use a smartphone USB cable from like Samsung or lg or htc shouldn't that also have data transfer ability ?

maybe for those sensitive job that dont allow their cable to transit data to their pc ba

Hello ... I am a new PS4 user.
May i ask a question ... what is the recommend TV size for the PS4?
Thanks a lot!
First of all, should go for 1080p resolution, with fast response (nowadays branded tvs shld be ok lah), multiple HDMI inputs. Other than that, no recommended size. Bigger size can sit further away, smaller size sit closer. If sitting at a desk and using a monitor, 24" also can, you are sitting so close you can still see 1080p details. (Personally I'd say 27" or 32" if using at monitor distance.)

I quoted 24" cos Sony once sold a Playstation 3D Display (no tv tuner, so basically a monitor) and that's the size. Quite a good quality display actually, it has a unique 3D technology allowing 2 players to look at the same 24" screen (the whole screen, not split) and each sees different things. Unfortunately 3D didn't get too popular so Sony stopped that line of product, and it was lelong on many stores.

:s11:

I'm curious you can activate the PS4 turn on while your kindle cable attach to your controller?

IF can , that means I feel activation part is from the Controller. The USB cable is just for charging purpose.

anyway why you happen to use kindle cable to charge instead the PS4 usb cable?

As I mentioned, any USB cable can be used. I've been using all sorts of no name brands. The data communication between controller and PS4 is wireless via Bluetooth, the cable is for charging purpose only. Only exception is the new controller that will transfer data over usb cable when connected. This feature is designed for those very pro players who claim to be able to detect 1ms of input lag when using wireless, so it gives them the option of going wired instead.

Don't say copycat hor, they already showed the prototype in 2015 at a HK trade show. (Here's a 2015 video.)

I really don't like the XYAB 'buttons' though. Seriously how to press that thing, unless it's actually a touch pad, like the Steam controller.
