it'll be incredible if the joy-cons use electromagnetic induction for direct power, no batteries!
if you noticed, the joy-cons have to be held close to the console, or snapped into the grip if want really long range (from tv to couch)

maybe a capacitor in case it goes out of range of the main console or the grip...

There should be 3 batteries, 1 for the main unit (the one with screen), 1 for each side's joy-con (cos they need to work wirelessly individually). Perhaps 1 more for the grip (when the main unit with screen is docked) if they want to make it a battery bank for the joy-cons (but very unlikely).

I wonder how the joy-cons can be charged, I don't imagine it will be standard USB type ports cos a joy-con has to slide in to attach. Might have problem if a joy-con runs out of juice when detached for 2 player, cos you cannot charge it without attaching back.

1 screen at a time.

so no WiiU B$ here.

or can buy a secondary screen as an accessory?

imo

its quite bad for them to leave things as it is now and let everyone speculates from the video. and considering the system being shown might not even be in the final state (remember PS3 was planned to have 2 LAN ports?)

got a feeling by March, everyone will be disappointed by the very same questions they are not answering now:
- specs
- price
- touchscreen?
- battery life

if this thing spec is not on par with ps4 or xb1, i can see those 3rd party just releasing 1 or 2 games and then abandon ship. even worse, if it doesnt sell, some just abandon ship straightaway. lol...

Saw this on the plane today. Very similar to the Nintendo switch yet there are slight differences as compared to the one revealed. Anybody knows what console is he playing? The game was NBA 2k17 by the way.

Looks like some China made tablet/consoles, like this one (but not exactly, your pic looks bigger than 7")...

There are quite a few others too, like these images from google search.

Or maybe it's a tablet with a controller attached (those that sandwiches the tablet in between). Or maybe it's an early prototype Switch

What you guys think about the screen being touch screen?

It's confirmed it will be touchscreen

But with the controls, is it still necessary for the touchscreen?
Yes, ds and 3ds sold like hot cakes but those 2 are stylus based. Nintendo's first touchscreen console wiiu doesn't sell that well coz its quite a poor product that doesn't accept multitouch.
And the games are designed to be played as a console in the docking station with tv. With it docked there is no way for the touchscreen aspect to work at all.

Jus a thought lar. I got a feeling the price will be so high that it is doa
So dropping the touchscreen should be able to drive the price down.
But then, with touchscreen, this would be the perfect all in one multimedia device.
