Best card for govt transactions (hospital, uni, road tax, s&cc etc.)

Anyone have suggestions? Have been using UOB One for govt transactions for a while now until I realized recently that it is excluded from eligible spend. My other card is DBS Altitude, which also has the same exclusions. Thanks!

Try Citi PremierMiles for government transaction, Uni, road tax.

Citi SMRT for town council.

Hospital Bills should be CIMB Platinum, though you need to clock up 8xmininum $30 in order to get the rebate.

Is it based on MCC? Some hospitals use the MCC for government services and I wonder if they will apply the rebate in this case.

Hospital bill for medical expenses is not considered govt spend. The problem if any is due to wrong MCC tagging. There are cards which explicitly advertise at the hospital counters that one can earn 3% rebate under medical. The only time it was excluded for me, I did a check and found out that the particular clinic's MCC was fire dept.

Foreign bank cards are usually more lenient. Local banks, already clamp down hard since 1-2yrs ago.
