BOC Cancel CC must write in?

Is it true for BOC if want to cancel their CC, must write and send them together with the card cos saw the post in some forum few years back.
Got 3 of their cards but for so many years never use even once at all and every year they will waive the annual fee but thinking don't want to keep so many CCs.

Call in to cancel will do, but it will take weeks to process them.

Take note ICBC also very slow in processing any procedure.

For me i called in, but it takes as long as it is to approve+send CC applications as it is to cancel. For mine i think it took 1-2 mths to fully cancel
