Those in bold did not get additional 9.8%.

GRAB *E49FC102B2294FC1 SINGAPORE SG
GRAB *16085477-9-004 SINGAPORE SG
GRAB *16085477-9-005 SINGAPORE SG
GRAB *266C3372F77F47C8 SINGAPORE SG
GRAB *7972847B54564D37 SINGAPORE SG

For the prior month, I received additional 9.8% for GRAB *B263C96D67924406 SINGAPORE SG.

Not sure if it was a recent change. Anyway, I have a ton of grab top-ups in my unbilled this cycle, so will see if the behaviour persists.
grab pay or grabpay credit topup fall under transport.
i asked the CSO.

I think those grab rides directly charged to card rather than grabpay credits will still get 10%. But good sharing on the manual top up method!

I think I lost at least $30 cashback
GRAB ECOM SSL-EC

i used overseas with citibank. and qualifies as grab payment 8%..
there is no "taxi" . just grab

Might be a case of inconsistent understanding? The CSO checked the MCC of the top ups and said it did not come under transport. Ultimately the bank’s system calculates cashback based on MCC.

For the record, my last top up with CIMB Platinum was on Dec 7th, posted Dec 9th. I got the 9.8% in Jan. the description is the same as those masked as ineligible.

So if it does not award the 9.8%, it must be new.

How about Visa Signature? Should still be online, right?

Not sure if can trust them. They told me those description with Grab * MCC is 7399 Business Services and no 10% under master but count as online under visa signature. However, cardup which does not get 10% under visa signature is also MCC 7399.

Yea it's quite opaque to end users frankly speaking. If only they show us the MCC and online/offline flag for each transaction in the monthly statement

For what it's worth, I did a grab top up (using saved cards, not manual top up) on 2 Dec using my Visa Sig and was indeed given the additional 9.8% in Jan19.

Read TnC of this card, all transactions made at hotels? Means hotel dining will also qualify?
As for the wellness, cosmetics shops will entitle except for large departmental stores. Overseas also included with many different kinds of purposes covered, looks attractive.

1. Travel spending shall include all local and overseas transactions made at Airlines, Hotels
(excluding transactions made for wedding banquets), Travel Agencies, Cruise Lines and
Railways only. This does not include transactions with descriptions containing “Ez Link”,
“Transit” and “Transitlink”.
2. Health, Beauty and Wellness spending shall include all local and overseas transactions
made at all Hospitals, Nursing and Personal Care Facilities, Doctors, Dentists, Optometrists,
Opticians, Chiropractors, Pharmacies, Cosmetic Stores (excluding department stores),
Hairdressers, Massage Parlours, Health and Beauty Spas only.
