Citibank still charges me Credit Card Interest even after waiver

There were multiple occasions where Citibank charges me interest again even though the charges have been waived before the date of payment /
deadline of payment.

Its a little confusing, will try to explain using a scenario..

For example, my typical monthly payment is due 30th. If there is a late charge for my last month's bill, and I proceed with the payment on 16th after a successful late charge interest waival approved on 15th, interest will still be charged again in my next statement, despite as of statement date, there is no longer any outstanding amount.

I just realised from the customer service today that, it is because, the waiver usually only waived off the interest as of the statement date. From the statement date to the payment date (1st to 16th in my earlier scenario) the interest will still be charged daily and reflected in the next bill, despite the approval being done on 15th!

Anyone else is equally frustrated?

Same, didn bother to call. Just send a message to them via internet banking.

Edit: mine was due to annual fee say waive but no waive hence interest incurred
