SCB VI has high onboarding cost... pay annual fee, and still need to spend minimum of $2000 per month to qualify for the additional MPD

for convenience sake, TS could consider the Privimiles UOB.

UOB Privi has a higher admin fee for foreign currency payment than other UOB cards. Bad idea unless TS thinks it is worth paying more for 0.2mpd.

SCB VI: Apply and pay 1st year fee $588.5 you get 35k welcome miles. Charge your USD17000 to it and get ~66k miles (3 mpd overseas spend). So total you spent ~S$22800 and get ~100k miles, i.e. 4.45 mpd

UOB PRIV Miles: Welcome miles 10k. 2.4 mpd for overseas spend, so USD17000 = ~53.4k miles. Total = 53.4k + 10k miles for USD17000, i.e. 2.85 mpd

I will be spending at least US$30K to US$80K per month for the next 6-8 months, as I need to organise some dinners with my clients overseas.

Will it still be better to use UOB Privi?
