ok guys. I am out of this game. After being a "founding member" since 2011, it is time to bid good riddance to this card after I refuse to pay annual fee this time.

enjoy!

Received a redemption letter for a B&O Beolit portable speaker for taking part in a spending promotion. The B&O speakers are ridiculously priced, so I guess it's a good gift and probably the only stuff I will ever own from B&O.
The bass is really good for its size. But it's an AirPlay-only speaker (no bluetooth or DLNA), which sucks. Overall, this product is just a little too pretentious for my taste. But it's free, so thanks, HSBC.

I am, once again, not notified of this promotion
Will cancel the card before next month annual fee due.

Renewal offer now is 25000 HSBC points.
I called, they said based on my spending they can't offer me any HSBC points for renewal. So the 25000 you get is not for everyone. It is for those who had met minimum spend.

I think I only spend about $15,000 so far this year ( $5000 per quarter for the first three quarters just to qualify for the use of JetQuay. Q4 I have not spent a single cent on this card ).

I went on to ask for closure of account and they have gladly done it without any question or desire for retention.

One "Founding Member" less!

B&O has Beoplay and BeoMusic apps on the Android store that is supposed to connect via Airplay to the Beolit speaker. However, it is buggy and I could not stream music from my android phone.

I am offered 50k HSBC renewal point. It still much lower than what i got last year which was like 125k if i remembered correctly. The customer relation officer said now they no longer offer renewal gifts and this is given out of goodwilll. Anyway, since i am big spender, she has escalated my request to the product team and they will get back to me on what they can offer but there is no guarantee. Regardless, i will renew as i enjoy Jet Quay, free limousine and 1.5 miles per dollars spend is good for me.

Oh last month i received a promotion..something about spending 25k within a month and have a chance to win 1k takashimaya voucher.

Well the promoter got back to me. They give me quite a few options to choose that includes :

1)75k HSBC points (basically 30k airmiles)
2) SAMSONITE FIRELITE SPINNER 75/28:
3)RIMOWA Salsa Air Cabin Multiwheel luggage
4) Rimowa Salsa Deluxe Cabin Multiwheel Luggage
5)Bang & Olufsen BeoLit 12 speaker

Hmm what is good?
Question is which one do you really need.

Probably I am not a big spender. They are offering me 25K points (10K air miles). I guess it is better than nothing since I have already paid the fees.
