Word of warning: even though this card is supposed to give 1.5% cashback on all SGD spend, that doesn’t apply to insurance, ezlink, etc.

Paid for travel insurance and wasn’t given cashback for it.

ICBC makes that point perfectly clear, up front, in its terms and conditions.

The payment methods attached to my 1st statement includes FAST which requires 19 digits (16 digits credit card number and 3 digits currency sub-account code, 018 for SGD in my case) to be added to my payee list. However, “Pay Other Bank’s Credit Card” on SCB online banking doesn’t allow me to type in more than 16 digits on the account number field.

How do you pay this credit card by using your online banking?
Yea idk this either. Im using axs website

It's not like ocbc dbs that kind.

I need to use ie. And install some add-on before can even login to the ibanking. Nothing to shout about at their ibank but good enough for me to see the statement.

anyone got issue to waive the annual fee for your ICBC credit card?

Just received SMS from ICBC this morning to inform me $150 to be charged on my ICBC Unionpay credit card which I haven't used for two years. So I called ICBC hotline (after waiting long long) to ask waive, but the CSO told me to waive, I have to spend first then can ask waive. So I say please cancle it since I am not going to use, then CSO say I have to pay the anuual fee first then to cancle.

Anyone run into such bllsh1t before, and how do you reslove it with ICBC?

ICBC has introduced an interesting new credit card this month (June, 2017): the ICBC Global Travel MasterCard. Here are the basic details:

* unlimited flat 1.5% rebate on Singapore dollar spending with no minimum
* unlimited flat 3.0% rebate on foreign currency spending (less a 2.5% foreign transaction fee) with no minimum
* annual fee waiver for 3 years (primary and supplemental cards)
* one-time free lounge access at Changi Airport for first 1,000 sign-ups
* 10% rebate on MasterCard Tap & Go bus/train rides through August 31, 2017

It's a Platinum MasterCard (ordinarily, unless approved with a low credit limit) with MasterCard PayPass contactless payment technology. Minimum annual income to qualify is $30,000. Alternatively, a secured card is obtainable if you place a fixed deposit of $10,000.

ICBC describes the 1.5% and 3.0% rebates as "promotions" but also says there is no expiration date for them at present. Rebates are credited directly to your account. Any rebate must be spent, via additional card spending, within 12 months otherwise the rebate is forfeited.

This card is broadly similar to the American Express True Cashback Card and the Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card. However, ICBC's higher overseas rebate (with no announced expiration) and 3 year annual fee waiver are significant improvements. This is a very good overseas card, actually, since you should still come out ahead by about 0.5% on overseas and cross-border transactions. (The cross-border fee is 1%.)
Is this better than Amex TrueCashBack for US transactions?

Yes. This appears to be the best general spend cashback card if you can accept a fairly non-intuitive online platform to check account balances and a China-based call center. I've not had issues so far. Rebate calculations have been correct to the last cent. The SMS OTP system for online payment didn't work initially but this problem has been fixed.
