My UOB Card got charged for MRT ride (unauthorised)

I carry all my cards in a card wallet....one side has transit link card and IC....the other side has the credit cards....one of which is UOB card with pay wave symbol.

Been using this system to tap in and out for years...but last week my UOB CC got charged $2. Ive never intended to use or authorised this UOB CC for use on transport.

Called UOB and they raised a dispute and cancelled my card for a replacement.

My question is, how does one prevent this from happening again....do I always have to carry my Transitlink Card separately on a lanyard or something?

Now both visa and MasterCard can be used to pay for mrt and bus rides. Just don't keep the cards together.

LOL, that's why people say "Take out your card and tap".

Wrap your credit card with aluminum foil.

I also had the same problem, CC got captured for my train ride instead of EZ link.
Stan chart CS told me, she can't help to waive the transport charge.

Lesson learnt, I tap my ez link separately now.

You should raise the dispute with transitlink. I had a similar issue as well and they reversed the charge

There are signs everywhere. Take out your card and tap.

It isn't a case of compromised card, why did uob send a replacement card?

Switch your UOB One CC to CEPAS mode.

If there is no value, no deduction can be made.

By right, the reader can detect multiple cards when tapping. But still you cannot rely on the reader.

I have no idea...CS these days is very poor everywhere with few exceptions....they just
follow some generalised playbook...I didnt argue as I didnt want to interfere in their business.

Anyway I got one of those TL tokens which I hang from my waist...so no clash with
my cards any more.

Actually you can just register your card at SimplyGo then raise a claim back for duplicate transaction.
